While the White Sox paid handsomely to pry
free Nick Swisher from Billy Beane’s grasp, and while
the move may have been ill-advised, the ultimate fantasy effect is decidedly positive. Swisher’s 2007 season compared favorably to his 2006 OPS-wise. But reasons aren't enough, they have to be
good reasons. A 2 for 15 stretch at the
start of the year for one of the most promising young hitters in baseball is not a good reason to bench him. It's not even close.
