Those changes manager Lou Piniella mentioned Tuesday may
come sooner than expected if the Cubs don't snap
out of their recent stretch of nine losses in 13 games.
It appears the Tampa Bay Rays may finally
be on their way to draining the swamp the
organization has been mired in since its inception in 1998. For the record the Rays have won 70 games once in their 10 seasons, even with Lou Piniella at the helm for three of those seasons.
CINCINNATI -- The day after the Cubs allowed
the Reds to beat them on nothing but unearned
runs, the players who made the errors were on the bench, and manager Lou Piniella promised a new and improved look on defense.
Lou Piniella isn't happy with the way the
Cubs have played recently, and he told the players
so after Monday's game. On Tuesday, he said he's considering making some changes.
