The Briefest Of Jersey Retirements For The Knicks’ N8
The Fanhouse’s Matt Watson reported Sunday that Nate Robinson — playing in the Vegas Summer League for the 4th year in a row — had his jersey retired in what can only be described an unceremonious, uh, ceremony. “Being named ...

 That Seth McClung Guy Sucks
That Seth McClung Guy Sucks
Our NHL confidant Lee Diekemper sent me this video of a Yankees fan at the All Star Game. Apparently, he doesn’t approve of Pirates outfielder Nate McLouth taking up his time at the mid-summer classic. He’s also incoherent to the point ...

 This (Past) Week’s Hottest Hitters
This (Past) Week’s Hottest Hitters
I love a good underdog story and the offensive performance of the Pirate’s OF Nate McLouth, and 2008 NL All Star, is one of those stories. Who would have thought that he’d have a year like the one he’s currently enjoying? His line this week was 9/4/9/2/.290/.333 (R/HR/RBI/SB/BA/OBP). Ryan Howard, 1B of the Phirst place Phillies

The Fine Line Between Stupid and Clever
The Fine Line Between Stupid and Clever
This year's All-Star Game only seemed to add to my thesis that 2008 may end up being the greatest year in sports history . The performance of Dan Uggla notwithstanding, everything about it was a fitting finale for the grand cathedral that is Yankee ...

 That was Ugg-ly
That was Ugg-ly
In case you missed it (and you might have because it lingered a bit, just a bit), Tuesday night's All-Star Game was an instant classic. It had everything. Great pitching, some ridiculous plays by the likes of Miguel Tejada and Nate McLouth and a walk-off sac fly play at the plate. Amidst all the awesomeness, was one Dan Uggla.

 The Baker's Dozen
The Baker's Dozen
1. While Josh Hamilton put on a show that even impressed my non-sports enjoying roommate, my favorite moment of Monday's Home Run Derby was Chase Utley's introduction. It was one of the funniest live television moments I've seen in a while, most likely because ...

Who is the No. 1 prospect for each team? Do the Dodgers see first-rounder Ethan Martin as a hitter or pitcher, and will a team ever try to develop a two-way star? What were the scouting reports on Nate McLouth as he rose through the Pirates system?

Today in Sacrifice Bunting
Ah, sac bunting. While it is excessively polite -- "Here, other team, take one of my precious outs. No no -- I insist! Allow me to make it as easy as possible for you." -- it is also strategically numbskulled. If you took the idea of bunting and ...
