Rickie Weeks will have his day because Brewers believe in his potential

PHILADELPHIA - For all the differences between fired Milwaukee Brewers manager Ned Yost and interim skipper Dale Sveum, they still have one thing in common.

Their loyalty...

Brewers return to Philly after sweep (AP)

The Milwaukee Brewers' last trip to Philadelphia was a disaster. They were swept in a four-game series and manager Ned Yost was fired the next day. Two weeks later, the wild-card winners are back in Philly, Dale Sveum is filling out the lineup card and that brutal sweep by the Phillies is all but forgotten.

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: MLB, Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers, Ned Yost

MLB's Number of the Day: 334

CC Sabathia has single-handedly taken the Brewers to the postseason. Since being acquired from the Indians, CC has gone 11-2 with a 1.65 ERA, throwing seven complete games over that span.
CC has pitched so well since the trade, he has somehow crawled into N.L. Cy Young Award talks. That's not even the brunt of it though. Over the past nine days, CC has thrown 334 pitches over the course of three starts (2-1).
334 pitches in 9 days!! That is absurd.
If I had to predict a melt down, he would certainly be my top choice. Although I hope the melt down comes during the playoffs, my guess is the adrenaline will carry him through.
Like the beginning of this year, when he struggled probably due to a hangover from last year's postseason, I imagine he will suffer from a far greater one next year that he may not recover from. Those pitch totals are a left arm death sentence. If he was on my keeper fantasy team, I would trade him for as much as I can get before next season. There is no way his arm ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: MLB, Milwaukee Brewers, C.C.
Owner's Mark Attanasio's Bold Move Paid Off for the Milwaukee Brewers

This article originally published on FOXSports.com .
Brewers owner Mark Attanasio was taken aback by the criticism.
Attanasio, a senior partner in a money management firm, comes from a world of risk-taking and bold action. In his view, the Brewers' firing of manager Ned Yost was necessary, even if only 12 games were left in the season atthe time.
Little did Attanasio imagine that the move would jolt baseball's conservative sensibilities and trigger speculation that he might lose his highly-regarded general manager, Doug Melvin.
Attanasio only imagined the potential outcome—the outcome that sent Milwaukee into a frenzy on Sunday, when the Brewers won the National League Wild Card and reached the postseason for the first time in 26 years.
The Brew Crew needed help from the pathetic Mets, the inspired Marlins, Big CC (Sabathia), and little CC (Craig Counsell). They also needed a series of dramatic home runs—Prince Fielder on Tuesday, Ryan Braun on Thursday, Rickie Weeks on Friday, ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: MLB, Milwaukee Brewers, C.C.
