I find them exciting to monitor for the
young talent that is emerging day-by-day, but there aren't

In a growing trend amongst the Rays front
office folks, they have taken another step to lock
in a player before they hit the free agent market. This was done with Carl Crawford and Rocco Baldelli in years past, and today’s recipient is change-up specialist James Shields.
The Rays have an off day on the
field, but have been active today off of it.
As expected the Rays declined Rocco Baldelli’s $6.25 Million Dollar option and instead will pay the $4 Million buyout. The hope is the Rocco will keep the dream of playing alive and resign with the Rays at a reduced cost.
