Due to my frustration with writing half of this article only to have my browser crash, this installment of disappointing teams will be far shorter than the last. Also, before I get into the task at hand, I just want to say congratulations to CC Sabathia for his should-be no-hitter Sunday. If you haven't seen it, earlier this week I deemed the Detroit Tigers the most disappointing team of the American League . Now to the National League, and then who wins (or loses) out between the two leagues. Colorado Rockies (NL Wild Card) vs. Atlanta Braves (NL East chumps) Already it's clear that the level of chump-itude is higher in the American League. But, as they say, that's why they play the games. Or try to play them, at least. Colorado seemed ready to become one of the National League's elite teams after their World Series appearance last year. It was assumed that the young pitching would be better after another year of big-league experience and that the offense would still be hot ...

Congratulations to Dynasty client Robert Lara for being named to the Arizona Rookie League All-Star Team. Robert has definitely made Padres executives very happy about selecting him in the 19th round. In a post made yesterday on Paul DePodesta’s blog, he had this to say about Lara: Round 19—Robert Lara, signed, Arizona—A 6′2″ catcher from the University of Central Florida, Robert has absolutely raked in Arizona. He has hit .344 with a .492 obp and a .483 slg. He has more walks than strikeouts, is second in the league in obp (behind Decker), and fifth in average. Overall, he’s had a tremendous start to his career. Nice words coming from the special assistant for baseball operations for the San Diego Padres. Besides Lara, the AZL Padres have two other All-Stars: Jaff Decker (who was also named league MVP) and Stiven Osuna. Congratulations to all, and super props to our boy, Robert Lara.
