Emotion Not Part of the Ramirez Dump

Emotion may have not been a role in the Manny Ramirez trade, but I think Shaun Payne is WAY off in his evaluation of the Manny, Jason Bay deal. Payne suggestion that the Sox got the better end of the deal is ludicrous. To me Bay is an above average player who has ZERO expereince in any big games. Sure Manny is getting up there in age but he is still one of the most feared players in the game.

EricLip@DugoutCentral posted 11 days ago from www.dugoutcentral.com [link]

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: MLB, Manny Ramirez, Scott Boras, Jason Bay, Los Angeles Dodgers, Dan Shaughnessy, Boston Red Sox

The Pedro Alvarez post

Dejan says that there's no news to report and that none of Boras's clients have done anything yet, which is how Boras operates. Rocco DeMaro on 104.7 says a deal is done and he supposedly had the Grossman and Miller news before anyone else. I'll be keeping an eye on it and posting updates as they come in. And no, I'm still not worried that he's not going to sign.

Walkoff Walk found this 2 days ago on www.whygavs.com [link]

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: MLB, Scott Boras, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pedro Martinez

The Yankees signed Stanford LHP Jeremy Bleich to a $700,000 bonus according to Baseball America. He was a supplemental first-round pick, 44th overall.
That figure, if correct, is below what a player in that slot would normally get. That suggests to me that Bleich’s elbow injury may require surgery. Why else would a Scott Boras client settle for less than slot?
Gerrit Cole is heading to college

Tyler Kepner from the New York Times is reporting that fireballing RHP Gerrit Cole, the Yankees 1st-round pick in the 2008 draft, will not be turning pro despite a very substantial bonus offer from the Yankees. Barring a last-minute change of heart (or the possibility that this is just pre-deadline posturing), Cole will have turned down a bonus offer as high as 5-6 million.

Pit Scott Boras is supposed to be the toughest agent - er, make that adviser in this case - in baseball. But Boras has been extremely quiet about negotiations between first-round draft pick and No. 2 overall selection Pedro Alvarez and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Boras is "advising" Alvarez because the NCAA does not allow its players to have agents. Technically, Alvarez is still a college baseball ...

Bucs Dugout: Front Page Posts found this 8 days ago on www.sportsnet.ca [link]

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: MLB, Pittsburgh Pirates, Scott Boras

It wasn’t blatent that Manny selfishly shit on the front doorstep just so John Henry wouldn’t pick up his option for 2009?

Oh wait, he did in fact grill the Yawkey Way front office — and this overcooked crook wasn’t on eBay.

In another world from here, in Farmington, N.M., Eric Hosmer is living out an amateur career that's pretty close to perfect.
He plays for the Midland Redskins, a baseball powerhouse that's the amateur equivalent of the New York Yankees, only if the Yankees had a little bit better history.
According to the team's website, 48 eventual big leaguers played for Midland, including Barry Larkin, ...

MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com found this 13 days ago on royalsblog.kansascity.com [link]

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: MLB, Scott Boras, Kansas City Royals, Eric Gagne
