The San Diego Padres, seeking a number five
starter to fill out their rotation, added two more
names to the competition. Left handed starters Shawn Estes and Glendon Rusch agreed to minor league contracts and will compete for the final slot this spring. Both are veterans in their mid-thirties making injury comebacks.

earned him a starting assignment Tuesday in Chicago. Estes,

a 5th starter to hold serve until Mark Prior
