The club will probably put Adam Wainwright on
the disabled list today with what it describes as
a sprained right middle finger but is more specifically a tear of a "pulley" that connects to the finger's flexor tendon.
The Cardinals' comments on Adam Wainwright's injury were
restricted to an official club release, one that also
outlined the planned returns this week of outfielder Rick Ankiel and pitchers Todd Wellemeyer and Joel Pineiro.
Adam Wainwright met with team doctors Monday and
rest was prescribed for the injury that forced him
to leave Saturday's start early. Wainwright will be re-evaluated later this week.
