Cecil Fielder, Kevin McReynolds... does Hafner share his
fate with these guys?
Apparently, Travis Hafner didn’t have the “steal” sign
yesterday. At least per Tribe outfielder Ben Francisco, who
was on the Jim Rome show this afternoon. When asked about Pronk’s steal, Francisco (who was on third base at the time) said that the big man took second base on his own, without the help from third base coach Joel...

Though he’s known more in these parts for
his numbers during the Jordan era, if you want
to find Brad Daugherty these days, it won’t be on the hardwood. Our former big man is pavement only, as he’s gone from co-owning a NASCAR team to being ESPN’s on-air correspondent, partaking in NASCAR Countdown as well
We’ve seen two versions of C.C. Sabathia so
far this season. First four starts: 18 IP, 0-3,
11.57 ERA, 14 K, 14 BB, 5 HR Last four starts: 27.1 IP, 2-2, 1.97 ERA, 32 K, 6 BB, 1 HR
By Craig Brown...From 2004 to 2006, Travis Hafner
was one of the most feared hitters in the
game. Over those three seasons, he averaged a home run every 13.8 at bats while hitting .308/.419/.611. But since the beginning of 2007, Hafner has seen his power (along with most of his other numbers) slide to a home run every 24.4 at bats...
Travis Hafner will probably never again be the
incredible hitter he was from 2004-2006. However, he is
still far better than his current numbers would indicate. Hafner is hitting .215/.312/.347 so far this year. But when we adjust for the bad luck ...
It seems almost every team is suffering from
a supermassive black hole in the middle of their
batting orders.
The resurrection of Travis Hafner may be getting
more and more unlikely by the day.
The other day on Baseball Tonight, Steve Phillips
broke down some of the differences in Travis Hafner’s
swing to figure out why he went from 42 homers to his less awesome current 20 homer version. Of course, it being from Steve Phillips, not a ...
While any battle between New York flamethrower Joba
Chamberlain and the Indians will likely entail a discussion
of the pests that swarmed the reliever during last season’s playoffs, David Dellucci did his best to put a little baseball back into the mix. Dellucci’s pinch-hit home...

Designated OF Jason Michaels for Assignment Recalled OF
Ben Francisco from Buffalo (AAA) Yes, Michaels was hitting
just .207/.258/.276 so far this season. Yes, he's making the type of money that Indians wouldn't think much of to dump. And yes, ...
As Rock and Scott mentioned, I was at
Tigers batting practice I mean, the Indians game last
night. What do you do when the Tribe is getting a monumental butt kicking? The crowd began to file out after the 6th inning. After Jason Michaels flailed away to end the Tribe half, the rows behind home plate...
Baseball nicknames. It's as timeless as Julio Franco.
Only one day after Cliff Lee tossed another
masterful eight innings to shutout the Minnesota Twins, the
team from the Twin cities returned the favor as the Tribe’s bats went quiet in a 3-0 defeat. Now sitting at 7-11 on the season, game three will be in the hands of Paul Byrd as he looks to pick up right where he left off during his last outing, looking to pick up his first win of the year....
Les Levine on the struggles of the Tribe’s
offense…
It’s hard to imagine that six shutout innings
of four-hit baseball (along with 11 strikeouts) would be
bringing an ERA down to 10.12, but last night’s win is something that I’d rather embrace and move forward than focus on the previous outings. Kansas City has now lost five straight games after scorching right out of the...

Is it just me or have the Indians
used Travis Hafner in an inordinate amount of promotions
this year. First, it was the “spend $48 in the team shop and get two ‘free’ tickets” promotion. Now I see that they have ticket packages creatively named after our designated hitter.
Though Travis Hafner brought in the second run
last night thanks to a sacrifice fly, I can
no longer allow myself to keep his ongoing struggles on the WFNY backburner. Hafner is leading the team in at-bats with 96, but is barely keeping his batting average above the Mendoza line at .219. If you’re hoping that...
