Defenders of the Game Shield Catch the next
installment at Tropicana Field on June 15.
The Los Angeles Times had a story yesterday
about statues at baseball stadiums, and a suggestion to
add one of Sandy Koufax to Dodger Stadium. I think a statue of Fred Claire giving Pedro Martinez a plane ticket to Montreal would be more appropriate. It got me thinking of honest statues for other MLB stadiums. Tropicana Field needs a statue of Rocco Baldelli in an MRI machine at once!
No one is looking at Tampa's team the
same way anymore, whether it's the Yankees, who for
years used the Rays as a punching bag, or the fans - attendance at Tropicana Field, no showplace, is up 37%.

Being a sports fan is tough - cheer
for a loser, or be accused of being a
bandwagon jumper. This piece explores that phenomenon a little more.

HOUSTON - Last year, Hideki Okajima was the
self-described "hero in the dark," the surprise element in

With all of the recent posts on soccer,
some of you loyal readers may be wondering if
our site has been infiltrated by communists. But worry not friends, I was merely on vacation last week, and now I am returning most triumphantly with a report on all-American activities: baseball, traveling and boozing; complete with photos and even a bit of what porn directors, as well as people opposed to ...
