Wayne Krivsky’s short-lived tenure as general manager of
the Cincinnati Reds is over. Krivsky was fired today,
and replaced with former St. Louis Cardinals GM, Walt Jocketty. The Reds started the season at 9-12, and the writing was on the wall when new owner Bob Castellini hired Jocketty last season. As reported by The AP : Jocketty is the team’s fourth general manager in six ...
With the All-Star Game just around the corner,
it’s time to look at which GMs are at
risk of being shown the door at the mid-way point in the season. Already Wayne Krivsky of the Reds was fired and replaced by Walt Jocketty, followed by Bill Bavasi of the Seattle Mariners being let go in early June with his replacement being Lee Pelekoudas in the interim slot. Here's 6 others in the hot seat.
It amazes me how completely clueless Baseball Executives
can be sometimes. The Cincinnati Reds hired Dusty Baker
to manage their ballclub. Apparently, GM Wayne Krivsky didn’t do research into Baker’s tenures as a manager or watch ESPN while Dusty was taking up space in the broadcast booth.
We saw this one coming.
The Cincinnati Reds have formally filed a grievance
with Major League Baseball regarding last year's trade with
the Washington Nationals in which the Reds believe they received damaged goods in reliever Gary Majewski. "We're looking into the matter," ...
Pete Mackanin is taking over; he was the
advance scout previously. I remember an "insider" over at
RedsZone saying that the Reds were incredibly deficient in the area of advanced scouting, but I'm trying not to let that color my opinion since I'm ...
I don't want to get too into Bonds
right now since I'm going to be making a
post about it later, but I'll just say I saw it live and the Mike Krukow call was 100 times better than the Dave O'Brien call, which was very, very lackluster. By the way, ...

| Click-2-Listen Reds manager Dusty Baker said this morning
that the team has told reliever Mike Stanton that they are going let him go. The move means the Reds will eat $3 million of Stanton's contract this ...

Reds officials on Wednesday refused to comment specifically on
an ESPN report published Tuesday that quoted Ken Griffey Jr. as saying he thought the team would try to trade him. But Griffey's agent said ...
This idiot calls up freaking Gary Majewski from
AAA instead of Bill Bray and sends down one
of the most effective pitchers in a tragically ineffective bullpen (Jon Coutlangus)? And Toad Coffey is still on the team? The guy doesn't have a freaking ...
The Reds gave the axe to GM Wayne
Krivsky today, replacing him with Walt Jocketty. It was
a short stint - Krivsky was hired in February of 2006. The move itself isn't a shock; it's just surprising timing.
Nothing is certain, however: Both Hurdle and Perlozzo
are signed through next season, and their respective clubs
lack obvious internal successors. It is unlikely the Rockies would promote bench coach Jamie Quirk to replace Hurdle, sources say. Reds ...
One of the major problems I have with
most (if not all) Reds fans is their belief
that Adam Dunn is not a valuable player because he strikes out way too much. They base their anti-Dunn argument on his strikeout totals and his sub-par defense in left ...

Link to this Krivsky wonders why its harder this
year to make trades? Could it be that the Reds were contenders last season until Sept., and this year they were done by June? What team would want most of the Reds ...
… Brewers General Manager Doug Melvin, who just
made what might be the worst trade of the
summer . Scott Linebrink has not had a good season for the Padres . His QuikERA (my preferred version of PERA ) is 4.78, and that’s pitching ...
9 Comments: That would be a huge mistake
- statistically and PR-wise. Bronson has pitched very well
this year, despite his record. He provides durability and stability every 5th day, usually providing a quality start, and occasionally is dominate. He ...
