Gov. James Thompson's secret plan to acquire and renovate
Wrigley Field for at least $400 million without raising taxes and now plans to package the Cubs and their landmark stadium in a private ...
Great article on a topic that I totally
agree with. Every time I've seen the Cubs this
year, they've had the Fonze batting lead off. How many walks does this guy get a year? Like 12?

Ever since there was discussion of the State
of Illinois purchasing historic Wrigley Field from the Tribune
Co. and renovating it, the question has been, “How would the State fund the renovation?” As we outlined yesterday, the Cubs (ergo, Tribune) see a complex deal with several moving funding parts (read Kenney Outlines Funding for Wrigley Field, Renovation ). One thing that ..
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo threw out the
first pitch at Wrigley Field today before the Cubs-Diamondbacks
game, and he was roundly booed. Then he sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and got booed some more: Romo grew up in Burlington, ...
I thought the Cubs had picked some random
woman out of a bar to sing the National
Anthem. They may as well have.
Crane Kenney, the Chairman of the Chicago Cubs
outlined how the sale of Wrigley Field and its
renovations would be paid for. Speaking in an interview on WSCR-AM670, Kennedy outlined the complex structure being proposed by which the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority would purchase Wrigley separately from the Cubs and other baseball related assets that the Tribune Co. currently owns. The ...
The sale of the Chicago Cubs will move
beyond pure discussion when Sam Zell and the Tribune
Co. deliver the financial “book” to the six prospective bidding groups sometime this week. The “book” is a financial assessment of all the holdings being sold by Tribune in association with the storied franchise, including the team, Wrigley Field, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, and ...

And the White Sox thought they needed slump-busting
help. The way the Cubs are going now, the
most strategic place they're placing any bats is the bat rack. And if you think the hitters aren't getting it done, you should see some of the pitching ...

Before I get to the game today, I
have to thank Cubs’ fans for again displaying no
class and showing why no one outside of Chicago likes you people. In the bottom of the sixth on a ball hit to Ryan Braun in left field, Cubs’ “fans” threw food and drinks in Braun’s direction while he was making a throw into the infield. Typical Wrigley Field drunks, I guess.

If ivy has become analogous with Wrigley Field
and the Chicago Cubs, then the St. Paul Saints
hope to form a similar bond with stalks of corn. Well, sort of. The Saints have teamed up with burrito patron-saint Chipotle for an interested promotion ...
With the first month of baseball in the
books and the ivy at Wrigley Field beginning to
grow, it’s about time for the annual Pete Rose gossip, and of course -- whether or not he deserves membership in the Hall of Fame. Years after walking away from Major League Baseball, Rose was accused of gambling on sporting events..
Hall of Fame player Ryne Sandberg, manager of
the Class A Peoria Chiefs, will play host to
what is believed to be the first minor-league game in the 94-year history of Wrigley Field when the Kane County Cougars visit July 29.

News flash: Mark Cuban didn't want to talk
during his visit to Wrigley Field on Wednesday. Talk
about trying to win over Major League Baseball.
