Backup center Aaron Gray , who hasn't played this season because of a stress fracture in his lower left leg, was hospitalized Monday because of fluid buildup in his right knee. After being examined by a Bulls physician, Gray was admitted to the hospital so the antibiotics used to treat the condition could be administered intravenously. Gray was expected to be released from the hospital by this morning. ''He's feeling better,'' coach Vinny Del Negro said before the Bulls played the Sacramento Kings late Tuesday. ''Hopefully, he'll be on the trip sometime. Not exactly sure when he'll be on the trip, but he's feeling better, and they got some of the redness out.''

In a very underrated trade last season, the Bulls acquired John Salmons and Brad Miller from the Kings for Andres Nocioni, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons, and Michael Ruffin (although Ruffin was later traded to the Trail Blazers for Ike Diogu). At first the move looked like it was made so the Bulls would finally have a true center that can score and pass the ball. However, in the off-season the true meaning of this trade came to light. The front office execs. obviously took a look at the 2010 off season, one even the King has said has the potential to be "the most exciting ever," and asked themselves if Ben Gordon was worth the money that he'd be asking for. In the end they made the right call in my opinion and let Gordon walk (or at least didn't give him an offer). Gordon may have broken the bank for potential upcoming free agents like Chris Bosh, or Dwyane Wade. Simmons leaves team for personal matter

The Nets are back to eight tonight in Miami. Bobby Simmons has left the team to return to Chicago to deal with a personal matter. So like they did in two games earlier this week, the Nets will play with the minimum amount of players allowed when they take on the Heat. Having nine was nice but it lasted just one night. No word on when Simmons will be back. Lawrence Frank also emphasized again that none of the injured players - Devin Harris, Courtney Lee, etc. - will be back anytime soon. The Nets are trying to avoid having their franchise-worst season-opening losing streak hit double digits.
