Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of watching the Tribe take 2 out of 3 from the Mariners, and two things jumped out at me. The Mariners are ridiculously bad, and Ichiro is ridiculously good. I never watch any M's games, so I never realized how amazing Ichiro is. Like your average dude that doesn't live on the left coast, I knew he was damn good, but it was an eye-opener seeing him play....

No more bronze medals for LeBron James. This time he's coming home with gold - and that's a guarantee. So he says, anyway. James made his guarantee in a Time magazine story that hits newsstands Friday. The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar is featured on one of the covers of the Olympic preview issue. After comparing the feeling of receiving a gold medal on the podium to opening a prized gift on Christmas morning, James was asked if that meant he would lead the Americans to the title.

Spurs Ink Summer League Standout Tolliver

Anyone who has watched just about every summer league game, as I have, has had a few pleasant surprises. Anthony Tolliver and James Gist look ready now and both deserve to not only be invited to training camp, but also deserve spots on the opening night roster. The Spurs took a step today to assure that at least one part of that tandem will have a Spurs jersey on his back.
