Let's talk about the end of an era...sigh...a
horrific chain of events that would lead the Cavaliers
to possibly move from Cleveland to Seattle some day. Because if LeBron James leaves town in two years, it could become a harsh reality.
Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of
watching the Tribe take 2 out of 3 from
the Mariners, and two things jumped out at me. The Mariners are ridiculously bad, and Ichiro is ridiculously good. I never watch any M's games, so I never realized how amazing Ichiro is. Like your average dude that doesn't live on the left coast, I knew he was damn good, but it was an eye-opener seeing him play....

Sure Gilbert Arenas runs his mouth at times....but
for the most part, it's all in good fun.
(And yes, I've been frustrated at this "fun") But what's wrong with garnering more attention and creating a spirited rivalry between two cities/teams? We'll be hearing about this next season when the Washington Wizards face off against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Couldn't have said it better myself: LB and

Just a suggestion.

recipient of the NBA Community Assist Award for June, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in the community and for his ongoing philanthropic and charitable work...
Cavaliers guard Delonte West has drawn some interest
around the league, but his "restricted" tag has scared
off any possible suitors. Like Cavs guard Daniel "Boobie" Gibson, West has not found any team willing to sign him to an offer sheet. Other ...
Put on your best Internet shopping duds because
it's time once again to "Shop Cleveland" on Ebay.
Up first we have a "game used" Steve Kerr warm-up outfit from his rookie year with the Cavaliers. If you want to touch what Steve touched (with his entire body) you're going to have to shell out a whopping $695. Now, I understand the sports memorabilia industry base their prices
The reports say it is a mild ankle
sprain. LeBron has had a few of those, and
with rest he is able to shake them off. So this shouldn’t worry Cavs fans too much, as long as we’re hearing the truth, and it is a mild sprain. With little time before the Olympic team [...]
You have to a love it when a
guy gets a standing ovation for signing his name
to a $111 million contract. That's what happened at today's Gilbert Arenas "press" conference. In reality, it was a few reporters/media types and then a bunch of employees ...
I have to admit that I am about
as far from a sneaker aficionado as there is.
Back in the day, we had the Reebok Pumps. Then the “Shaqs.” Then the “Pennys” with that cool little $.01 logo stitched on to the back. And although I love Entourage and Turtle’s $10,000 pair of Fukijamas...
Another day, another chance to liveblog the Bucks
from our courtside seat.
According to the Sacramento Bee's Sam Amick, the
Cavs don't have an interest in pursuing Ron Artest
at the moment. Danny Ferry and Co. should rethink their position.
The Cleveland / Akron pro and semi-pro pre-NBA
basketball team list continues to grow. At first, I
was excited to find online references to: Akron Firestone Non-Skids (1937-1941; National Basketball League) Akron Goodyear Wingfoots (1937-1942; National Basketball League) Cleveland Rosenblums...
Last December, I think it was, I was
headed to Puerto Rico to play. And my agent
had called NBA teams and we were getting no response. So, maybe a couple of days before I was about to leave, I asked him to call Cleveland. And he and Danny had a great talk, and they brought me in to work me out. I probably wasn’t 100 percent NBA-ready at that point, so we ...
The WFNY crew examines possible roster moves Danny
Ferry and the Cleveland Cavaliers can make to appease
their fans, who are growing impatient.
Taking a page out of my good friend
St. Augustine’s book, I want to post a noble
quote about patience from him: “Patience is the companion of wisdom.” What does that have to do with Ferry? A lot. Right now, fans make it seem like ...
Cavsboard looks at JJ Hickson's showing in the
Las Vegas Summer League.
LeBron is all about speed and power; sometimes
that spills over into places where discretion is the
better part of driving. LB will never be caught driving that fast again; at least not while the Akron police are driving these ...
The Kings' point guard got the full mid-level
exception for five years. The Knicks also signed veteran
Chris Duhon for two years of the full mid-level. Then, the question is how did the Cavaliers convince Daniel ''Boobie'' Gibson to sign a five-year, ...
Notes from a trip to the NBA Summer
League in Las Vegas . Robert "Tractor" Traylor hasn't
appeared in the NBA since 2005, but after several stops in Spain, Puerto Rico, and, well, the courthouse , he's hoping to return to the Big Show by earning a ...
The main question surrounding the Cleveland Cavaliers has
been, "How can this team improve its supporting cast
around LeBron before it's too late?" The team tried to pry Mike Bibby away from Sacramento for a year before failing. Now, another King could be on his way to Cleveland to help out King James' court. So here's another question: Can Ron Artest take the Cavs to where they want to go?
Oleksiy Pecherov just told me that he will
not play tonight against the Cavaliers or for the
final two summer league games as he works to get back on that sprained left ankle. Pecherov has been shooting but hasn't practiced and said the ankle still ...
You knew there had to be one. Olympic
fever reaches all sectors eventually. And I have to
confess, ever since I first saw LeBron dribble, I've wanted to pick up sticks. Yes, we're talking about the Knitting Olympics.
It is amazing to look back on the
Cleveland series and realize how close we were to
elimination in the Conference Semis. At the two-minute marker of the seventh game, the Boston Celtics were up by one point--at home. Over the last two minutes, LeBron ...
Nice collection of links for anyone spending a
weekend with flu-like symptoms.
Before we get to the Wizards, Golden State
rookie Anthony Randolph just threw down a sick one-handed
tip jam right in front of me. See it. As for the Wizards, they won 72-69 over Cleveland tonight to improve to 1-2 in summer league play. It wasn't ...
Keep bumping into stories about LeBron and NBA
09's cover athlete. Some list technical details about the
game, some offer opinions; lots and lots feel strongly this honor is overdue. I didn't mention the potential news for two reasons: 1) Everyone else did. 2) There was something on the tip of my brain that wouldn't come out. The aha! moment hit this morning after a glass of chocolate milk ...

New York Knicks, save your money : And
New York fans, save your heartbreak. I will make
a prediction, a la Nostradamus. LeBron James will not become a Knick in 2010, even with an improved Knicks squad and franchise situation.
In getting Boobie, the Cavs have signed the
athletic shooter and running mate that LeBron James needs
to pass the ball to when he gets double-teamed or when defenses collapse on him when he charges through the middle.
Many, if not all of WFNY’s readers are
familiar with Brian Windhorst’s coverage of the Cavaliers. Whether
you read Brian’s columns or blog at the Akron Beacon Journal, his submissions to ESPN, or even his book The Franchise, co-authored with Terry Pluto, you have undoubtedly read something of his if you follow the Cavs.
If there’s one move that you could applaud
Danny Ferry for not making, it would be not
overpaying for James Posey. Ferry and the Cavaliers did the right thing by letting Posey go to the New Orleans Hornets. Sure they could have upped their ...
