Last year, David Thorpe wrote, "I've always believed
Redick could become a starter for a playoff team,
and he appears to be moving along that path now." I have done several posts disagreeing with Thorpe about this. He recently emailed me and during our exchange of messages I asked him point blank which starting shooting guards in the league he believes that Redick can effectively defend.

games and is now reaffirming his earlier declaration that

I'm still surprised by David Thorpe's breathless praise
of J.J. Redick, who concluded Pepsi Summer League play
with a 19.8 ppg average on .400 shooting from the field. What reason is there to believe that Redick can be a starting guard in the NBA, let alone a starter on a playoff team as Thorpe asserts?
