Chris "The Birdman" Andersen will return to the
Denver Nuggets next season. He agreed to sign a
one-year contract with the team, multiple sources said Wednesday. Andersen, who resides in Denver, will make a league minimum $998,000 next season. Andersen, a forward-center, played sparingly last season for New Orleans after returning from a two-year league suspension for substance abuse.

By BRODERICK TURNER The Press-Enterprise LOS ANGELES - He

Andrew Kamenetzky has a nice summary, with embedded
sound bits, over at SportsHubLA : Camby expressed numerous
times his enthusiasm at the notion of teaming up with Davis, Chris Kaman, Gordon and Al Thorton, whom he described with a laugh ...
Bobby Jones and Keith Langford scored 18 points
and 17 points, respectively on Saturday, as the Denver
Nuggets downed the Los Angeles Lakers 92-79 at the 2008 NBA Summer League Presented by EA Sports.
Dahntay Jones' last-second running layup secured the Nugget's
one-point overtime victory 105-104 over the Houston Rockets in
Friday's 2008 NBA Summer League presented by EA SPORTS night cap.
Interesting when business side of things leads to
teams giving away players for nothing isn't it?
Indications are the Nuggets would trade Iverson if
the deal was right. They'd also trade Kenyon Martin
or Nene, if anybody wanted either. And owner Stan Kroenke would be willing to deal the Rocky Mountains if he owned them and it would keep him from paying the luxury tax. But Iverson has trade value. With an expiring $20.84 million contract, he would be an ideal for teams looking to clear space
After 15 years rooting for the Denver Nuggets,
I've decided to allow the readers choose which NBA
franchise I will support. This is in protest of Marcus Camby to LA Clippers trade. Please don't pick the Knicks.
Before the Rockets' summer league game against the
Nuggets on Friday, Houston rookie Donté Greene was engaged
in a playful game of one-on-one with a ball boy that couldn't have been more than 13 years old.
The Warriors are leaving Las Vegas as one
of the three top teams in the NBA Summer
League at 4-1. Tied with the Nuggets and Bucks, their only loss was to Northern California rival, the Sacramento Kings. ‘We Believe’ fans should be delighted that first round pick, Anthony Randolph, was a star for the Warriors while averaging 20.8 ppg and 7.8 rpg.
It doesn't always work this way, but it's
interesting to note that the Clippers, Sixers and Nuggets
just (kind of) participated in a blockbuster, three-team, three-player trade that took about 19 months to complete. When Philadelphia sent Iverson ...
After spending the last six seasons in the
cold of Denver, you’d think Marcus Camby would be
overjoyed at the idea of moving to sunny Southern California as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. You’d think, but according to the BOSTON ...

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Denver Nuggets 79-67
Thursday Night, thanks to a horrendous 2nd quarter by
Denver, in which they only managed to score 7 points. Ramon Sessions and Roderick Wimont had 13 to lead Milwaukee, while rookies Joe Alexander and Luc Richard Mbah A Moute, both had 10 points towards the Bucks' 2nd win of the Summer League. http://rawsportsblog.com/?p=1301
J.R. Smith hasn't received much more interest this
summer than J.R. Rider. If the Nuggets had fears
of some team swooping in to sign the restricted free-agent guard to a big offer sheet, they can breathe easier. Smith was asked Friday if he'd heard ...
Luxury tax or not, Marcus Camby had to
go. Camby’s Defensive Player of the Year award in
2006-2007 was a farce. Camby is a good shot blocker, but only went after shots he could block and rarely altered those he couldn’t. Shot blocking ...
If there’s one move that you could applaud
Danny Ferry for not making, it would be not
overpaying for James Posey. Ferry and the Cavaliers did the right thing by letting Posey go to the New Orleans Hornets. Sure they could have upped their ...
Golden State Warriors guard Kelenna Azubuike , a
restricted free agent, signed an offer sheet with the
Clippers on Thursday for a three-year deal worth $9 million. The Warriors have seven days to match it. After obtaining center/forward Marcus Camby ...
We don't expect him to fill Elton Brand's
huge shoes, but in wishing Marcus Camby the best
of luck with his new club, here's a highlight reel of what Marcus does best.
A couple of days ago, the Clippers pulled
off an amazing heist by acquiring Nuggets’ Center Marcus
Camby. All they gave up for the big man was a swap of second round picks in 2010. Wait, what??
Yesterday, the Nuggets dealt big man Marcus Camby
to the Clippers in exchange for basically nothing(a possible
swap of 2010 2nd round picks. Yay!). Camby, in the Rocky Mountain News , is just a little less than thrilled: “You always know ...
I did not even realize the Nuggets had
traded Marcus Camby until after the MLB All-Star game
ended last night. I casually flipped to ESPN News and noticed a report on the ticker that simply stated the Nuggets had traded Camby to the Clippers. ...
First off, I want to sincerely thank all
of you for your passionate and (in most cases)
thoughtful commentary on the Marcus Camby trade that went down on Tuesday night. Now that the dust has settled from this still shocking news, I need to cut ...
... there is a question here: Because the
Clippers had room under the salary cap, they could
have brokered a three-way trade that would have sent Shawn Marion to the Clippers, landed Camby with the Heat and perhaps even gotten an extra draft pick or two for the Nuggets.
If this goes down the LA conspiracy theory
for being on the positive side of all really
bad trades is busted.
The next great myth surrounding this trade that must
be debunked is that the Nuggets are now going
to be giving up 150 points a game next season without the defensive force that is Marcus Camby. We have gone into extensive detail ...
In this weeks version of NBA Weekly: Marcus
Camby traded to the Clippers, Josh Smith has few
options left, James Posey signs with the Hornets, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, and more.
Contending teams do not simply give away a
valuable asset like Marcus Camby--and that is precisely the
point: the Nuggets are not a contending team and their management is painfully aware of that fact.
After blocking 1,126 shots in six seasons with
the Nuggets, center Marcus Camby took a few Wednesday.
Still trying to come to grips with his trade from Denver to the Los Angeles Clippers, Camby talked candidly about his disappointment in the hours ...
Denver traded F Marcus Camby to the Clippers
last night , one of the finest defensive players
of his generation and perhaps the 6th most famous UMass almunus (following Julius Erving, J Mascis, Frank Black, David Berman and Bill Cosby) of the modern ...
A team trading something for nothing is a
very difficult thing for the casual fan to understand.
After all, how does trading away a contributing player for future gains improve their casual viewing experience? It’s even unsettling at times for those in the know. We understand how cap relief can help a team’s overall situation, but c’mon, can’t Team X get something in the deal? And of course, I ...
ClipsNation seems to be ecstatic (shock!) over the
Marcus Camby coup . One of the fans there
pulls out this quote from Camby's agent Rick Kaplan, as recorded by the Rocky Mountain News . [T]he Nets, without room under the salary cap, were not able to ...
