Apparently VC had NO CLUE Devin Harris was
making his Nets debut against the Milwaukee Bucks. Neither
did Carter see D-Harris at practice that morning, either. Um, Vince...
Dirk Nowitzki is hurt. Jason Kidd, the player
they mortgaged their future for, has not been as
good as advertised. They're in the seventh seed and falling. After Dallas lost to San Antonio on Sunday, and Denver won, the Maverick's season is slipping away.

Passion and Pride's Jon Burkett assumes the point
guard position in this potpourri of posts on MVN
Basketball. You can also send in your votes for the 2008 NBA All-Star Game directly on this edition of the daily dish. Sadly, Devin Harris is not on the ballot, although teammates Jerry Stackhouse and Erick Dampier are...
The final hurdle was cleared at roughly 9
PM, when Keith Van Horn consented to sign a
$4 million contract that makes the trade work financially and report to New Jersey for what is estimated to be 30 days of work. The Nets will send Kidd and Malik Allen to the Mavericks for Devin Harris, DeSagana Diop, Maurice Ager, Trenton Hassell and Van Horn. In a separate deal, the Nets will dispatch ...
A breakdown of the effect on both rosters
after the long talked about miniseries that was the
Kidd to Dallas trade finally was consummated.
(I'm piggybacking off of Skeets on this one.
Phenomenal Swag is a BDL feature, so all the
credit for the idea goes thataway.) About two months back, I got an email from my (kind of) hometown Dallas Mavericks about a blow-out sale of merchandise from their fanshop. I was pretty intrigued at the...
The latest rumor by ESPN’s Marc Stein suggests
that “the leading Kidd suitor at this juncture” is
not Cleveland or the Lakers, but the Dallas Mavericks. Why does he believe it to be so? Let’s examine.
The Dallas Mavericks went 3-0 last week, have
now won five straight and are back near the
top of the Western Conference. Showboating's Joe Boikess wraps up the week that was.
No matter the circumstances, a showdown between the
Dallas Mavericks and San Antionio Spurs is always a
big game. Dallas even played like it was a big game for most of the first half, scoring big baskets and getting some solid help off the bench. Then, things started to fall apart on both sides of the ball in the second half.
A few weeks back Scott was invited to
debate whether Cleveland or Philadelphia was the more tortured
sports town. I suppose after tonight Philly fans will demand a recount. Maybe this is one of those wins. Maybe this is one of the defining moments in a season. Perhaps the Cavaliers will look back on this finish...
As DeSagana Diop says in his casual southern
drawl, “For me, the right fit is very important.”
It’s hard to say if that fit is with a rebuilding Nets franchise or wearing a ten-gallon hat and conversing about Ford Expeditions with an aging cowboy in the heart of Texas…
Devin Harris is in his third season in
the league and is often one of the more
overlooked players on the Mavericks. Heck, you could even say one of the more overlooked players who has started 59 games on a 60+ win team.
"Dirk’s least superstarrish moment last night came on
the defensive end in the early part of the
third quarter when his man, Stephen Jackson, set a high S/R on Devin Harris for Baron Davis. Davis dribbles right while Dirk…well, it was odd...."
The Wolves couldn't quite comeback all of the
way against the Mavericks, and Dallas prevailed 109-103. Al
Jefferson played what most would say was his best game as a Timberwolf and Craig Smith played strong off the bench, but the fourth quarter free throw shooting of Dirk Nowitzki and the clutch play of Devin Harris and Jason Terry proved to be too much for the 2-10 Wolves to overcome.
Jamal Crawford, who was 6 for 22 from
the field, shooting over the Mavericks' Devin Harris.
Look, I think we all know why the
Dallas Mavericks and a zillion other teams might be
interested in Jason Kidd. Veteran poise, mental toughness, ball movement ... we have all seen that . What would be driving this rumored trade , more than anything, ...

or: Kobe is a big fat faker Line
of the Night: Chris Paul (5.62) must have said
to himself something along the following lines: If Marcus Camby can get 9 blocks in a game, I sure as Hail can get 9 steals. And so he did. And in the process he made Jason Kidd look like a Jetlagged Old Man. I didn’t actually see the game, but I can only assume that it looked like sort of like this:
Forget “The Big Three.” Their time has come
and gone. For the Brooklyn-bound Nets to climb back
into a real discussion of Eastern Conference contenders, any and all personnel moves over these next two seasons should be made with an eye towards landing “The Big One,” Mr. LeBron James.
Brad Ames of Priority Sports has provided information
about where some of the agency's clients are headed
