Last and certainly not least, a shout out
goes out to Hawks fans everywhere. The Phillips Arena
was absolutely rocking all series long and it was a major boost to your team. You really did "shock the world" simply by forcing the series to seven games, and the home court deserves a lot of credit. Well done.

It was a series that the Boston Celtics
were supposed to sweep, but someone forgot to tell
the Atlanta Hawks to lay down. Staying true to form the home team has won every game and it was no different as the Hawks extended their season to at least a 7 th game in Boston with a 103-100 win over the Celtics Friday night at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta. Once again Boston busted out to a ..

the Hawks were going to "Shock the World" then Smith knew he'd need his A game for the rowdy fans at TD Banknorth Garden on Sunday ...
It’s not like the Boston Celtics needed any
further motivation heading into the postseason. After adding All-Star
veterans Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett last summer and stripping their club of over half of its promising-but-unproven talent in the process, the Celtics instantly transformed themselves from one of the NBA’s youngest and least successful teams into one of its top contenders.

I read several comments questioning why Doc still

in the NBA isn't a layup.
Led by high-flying Josh Smith, the Atlanta Hawks
finally showed they can beat the Boston Celtics. Good
timing. Smith scored 27 points -- and give him a perfect 10 in his own personal dunking contest -- to lead the Hawks to a 102-93 victory Saturday ...
The Hawks played as if they belonged in
the playoffs yesterday and the Celtics looked quite mortal
going down 102-93 at the hands of a rejuvenated Josh Smith, Joe Johnson, Al Horford and Mike Bibby. The series now stands at 2-1 Celtics and those thoughts of a cake walk through Atlanta, if not a sweep, can be tossed out the window. It can be termed a wake up call for the Celtics who appeared ...

At the beginning of this series (and pretty
much throughout the first two games), I was pretty
outspoken in my confidence in the Celtics and their superiority. In fact, I made a wager with a Hawks blogger to write 300 words on the greatness of the Hawks for every game they won.
I could give you a bunch of excuses
about why the Celtics lost this game. We could
go over the officiating, the shot clock issues, or Sam Cassell's poor shot selection in the 4th. But that would simply not give the Hawks enough credit. I have to hand it to them, they came out and played a fantastic game.
Andrew Bogut blocks shots AND draws charges... a
lot. So do Marcus Camby and Josh Smith... Chris
Kaman, Yao Ming, Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard and Amare Stoudemire? Not so much.

Joe Johnson scored 35 points - 20 in
the fourth quarter - and Josh Smith added 28
points and seven blocks for Atlanta, which surprised the Celtics again 97-92 on Monday night to even the best-of-seven series at two games apiece.
How often do sports fans get to chant
something as fun as "Boston Sucks, Boston Sucks!" in
their sportsfan lives? For us folks in Phatlanta, it ain't very often. Granted, the Celtics are more than capable of destroying the Hawks over the course of the next two (and hopefully three) games. But when an 8 seed under .500 backdoors into the playoffs and twice takes down the team with the league's...
No one expected this series to go to
a fifth game, and certainly no one expected it
to go a sixth game. But after tonight’s loss, the series is going to return to Boston on Wednesday night for game five and then back to Atlanta for game six on ...
