Passing The Torch: Garnett Sits Down With Russell
Realist is in the process of uploading his
entire NBA Classics library to Youtube. We have our
differences [Kobe MVP!!!!!] but we can both agree that the NBA in the 80's was ridiculously entertaining. Take a gander at the following clip, from the '87 ...

The sun rises, and The Commission unearths a
fantastic video. This takedown by Laimbeer is downright criminal;
Bird’s reaction is priceless. If someone threw the ball at another player like Bird did, would it be an automatic suspension? ...
You may have caught this clip of a
sit down conversation between Bill Russell and Kevin Garnett
during halftime of last night's game. For those of you that are unfamiliar with Mr. Russell - he only won 11 NBA titles in 13 seasons as a player and coach. He is truly a living legend and you can see the amazing level of respect these two men have for each other.
The highlight of tonight's contest between the Boston
Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers happened during the halftime
show. ESPN ran about 3 minutes of a conversation between Bill Russell and Kevin Garnett. I'm not ashamed to admit the ...
I trust Celtics general manager Danny Ainge, and
I trust Celtics coach Doc Rivers. Still to this
day, it amazes me how people were jumping down Ainge’s throat while he was in the midst of constructing a foundation for this team to be built on. You ...

CLEVELAND -- Kevin Garnett, like all Celtics’ fans, can’t
put his finger on why the Celtics are dominating at home but struggling on the road in the playoffs. “It’s pretty frustrating,” Garnett said. ...
The NBA Closer is written by Matt McHale,
who suggests that you see Iron Man immediately if
you haven't already seen it. And if you have seen it, see it again. When he's not marketing major motion pictures for free, he can be found playing cards ...
Hanging his head… Forget about the 66 wins
and the postseason blowouts at the Garden; we’re no
longer taking the Celtics seriously as championship contenders until they win at least one playoff road game. Losing three in Atlanta to a ...
When LeBron was held to 2-18 shooting in
game one, you could excuse us for thinking it
was just an off night for him. When he is then held to 6-24 shooting, as he was tonight, you have to start giving credit to the Celtics amazing defense. Sure he got his 21 points and 6 assists, but in no way was he a factor in this game.
I don't have much of a rooting interest
in any team left in the NBA playoffs. But
there are a few players we like to pull for. St. Joe's product and now Cleveland Cavalier Delonte West is a personal favorite. A man I think most basketball fans, as well as NBA players themselves , can pull for is Kevin Garnett. Check out this sweet video of Garnett chatting with Bill Russell. [via CelticsBlog ...
What can I say... I'm blown away. It's
like my whole life, Russell's retirement/my birth (roughly the
same time frame), and the present day, have come full circle. I'm proud of being a Bostonian and a lifelong Celtics fan. It's kinda like a family ...
Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant won the
NBA’s Most Valuable Player award on Tuesday, receiving 82
first-place votes. This is Kobe’s first MVP award. New Orleans’ guard Chris Paul finished second in the voting with 28 first-place votes. Boston forward Kevin Garnett earned 15 first-place votes for third place, and Cleveland’s LeBron James finished fourth, receiving one first-place vote. As ...
Note to Zaza: Look where you're running...KG's a
wall.
This seems to be the common theme (besides
“LeBron blows”) of this series. LBJ and KG both
have used it frequently when describing home court advantage. As far as I see it, there are two forces colliding in Game 3. Let’s start with ...
You remember this whack-job… he did the “Prince”
Kobe song . Its a take-off on those Volkswagen
ads. If you haven’t seen them… here’s the one with Heidi Klum . There’s also one where Bob Knight ...
Not sure who deserves more credit: Garnett for
the ridiculous behind-the-back pass or Leon Powe for the
wherewithal to catch it before it ricochets off his dome.
Home has been a sweet place to be
for the Boston Celtics. Proving that there is no
fatigue after a grueling, exhausting seven game series against Atlanta, KG and the Celtics treated King James and his Cleveland Court to a series opener that will... www.rawsportsblog.com
God bless Kevin Garnett, but I always thought
the true NBA defensive player of the year for
the 2007-08 season was his fellow Boston Celtic Paul Pierce. He had the best "Defensive Win Score" on the best Defensive Win Score team in the Association. ...
