Clippers longtime play-by-play announcer Ralph Lawler and color analyst Michael Smith were suspended one game by the Fox Sports Prime Ticket cable network for their comments about Memphis center Hamed Haddadi. Lawler and Smith made their off-the-cuff comments about the Iranian-born center during Wednesday night's telecast from Memphis. The on-air banter offended a viewer who e-mailed Fox to complain. The duo did not work Friday's night telecast against the Denver Nuggets at Staples Center.

Dear Mr. Iverson, You are too small. You have no heart. You do not care. You can not longer go toe to toe with the best guards in the NBA. You do not matter. Are you buying any of that? I'm certainly not. Mr. Iverson, your contributions to the NBA and the city of Philadelphia have been nothing but good. You have never run into the stands or punched a referee and if missing practice is your biggest downfall, then so be it. But something changed once you left the city of brotherly love. You became...really, really human. No longer were the days of hoisting up 30 shots, shooting 17 free throws, and being the literal center of attention still possible. Allen Iverson has cleared waivers and is free to sign with any NBA team. The former MVP was waived Tuesday after playing only three games with the Memphis Grizzlies and no team claimed him in the following 48 hours, making him a free agent. The New York Knicks are discussing whether they want to bring in the 34-year-old guard. Iverson was unhappy coming off the bench last season in Detroit and this season with the Grizzlies, so there isn't expected to be much interest in him.
