Magic Johnson would go along with LeBron James' plan to have NBA players stop wearing No. 23. James said last week he would change jersey numbers next season in honor of Michael Jordan, and said no other players should wear it, either. Critics of his plan said other players before Jordan deserved the honor at least as much, with some using Johnson and Larry Bird as examples.

I went all the way up to Lake Placid to watch the Michael Jordan of figure skating, and then Kim Yu-Na started flopping all over the ice as if she were an American or something. Very disappointing. It was like catching Jordan on a 4-for-22 night. You could still tell she's great, but you felt unlucky to be there on the wrong evening. Weird thing happened on the way back from Lake Placid. Driving on Route 87 South, about 100 miles south of Canada, U.S. troopers of some kind - were they with INS? - had a roadblock set up and forced every car to stop. Most of the drivers were waved immediately on, but I have that curly-haired, olive-skinned look that immediately sets off alarms with these authorities. So I had to roll down my window and answer a bunch of questions about my citizenship. The funny part came when I showed the guy my Skate America credential, as if that were good enough to prove I wasn't a terrorist. It was all pretty disturbing, actually. I thought Obama was going to stop all this ...

Michael Jordan watched the Miami Heat play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night as two of the game's premier players (and potential free agents in nine short months) played. After Dwyane Wade's Heat lost to LeBron James' Cavs, TNT's Craig Sager spoke with James about the presence of Jordan at the game. James, a student of the game who's respectful of the history of the NBA (and shoe contracts), instantly began talking about how much respect he has for Jordan "paving the way" for players like him to make millions.
