First of all I have to give
credit to the New York Knicks for drafting a
virtual nobody in front of all the crazy New York fans in the 2008 NBA Draft. Un fortunatley, I can't really agree with the pick, as they took Danilo Gallinari. Gallinari isn't a bad player, but for the oppourtunity that the Knicks had to draft an established ballplayer I can't see why they took the 6"9 ...
Yesterday was time for yet another edition of
HardCore Hitting. And what did we cyber chit chat
about in the sixty minutes of madness? Well, listen and find out, I do not think you will be disappointed!
Those of you that read this blog or
know me personally know that, while I enjoy Syracuse
Men's basketball, I have sometimes been critical of head coach Jim Boeheim. Well, if I'm going to be critical of someone when I think he's wrong, I think that I should also have his back when he's right in what he does or says. Right about now is where you are going to wonder what I am babbling about...
The Draft Guru provides his insight and a
mock 1st round for tonight's NBA Draft.
This article details many of the trades rumors
flying around that involve the Utah Jazz. The article
describes the rumor, what would have to happen to make the trade work, and why each team would/would not pull the trigger.
Check out what the 2008 NBA Draft Lottery
teams are thinking, as well as how the Jermaine
O'Neal for T.J. Ford deal will affect both teams.
Reisinger wrote a column about NBA Draft busts
and included a stipulation of "no injured players". However,
he included a player who had stomach cancer. Do you research buddy.
I was one of the thousands of people
that thought that Donte Greene should stay one more
season, and the NBA Draft proved that most of us were pretty much right on.
Well, we can argue about who the Pistons
should have taken with their picks or we can
enjoy the fact that Trent Plaisted's wife is sorta hot. Personally, I'll go with the latter.

CDR refuses to workout for the hometown Pistons
and other teams ... probably why he slid into
the second round.
I just wanted to do a small post
about the NBA Draft, since I think I did
quite well overall in doing my picks. I hit the first five in a row, which being honest the top two were almost written in stone, but the other three, especially the two UCLA Bruins were a bit of a surprise to many.
And once again it is time for me
to podcast and hopefully for someone to be listening.
In this episode of "HardCore Hitting" I talk about how ESPN blew it with a great concept and a poor execution in thinking through their "Titletown USA" concept! That and much more on... "HardCore Hitting"
I know that most of the pre-season rankings
never stand up, and imagine when the rankings are
done about a year minus a week from when things are supposed to happen. But, this is the Y2K era and in this era of multimedia outlets, you know that each ranking and Top 25 or 50 or 100 is worth looking at.
I mean Michael Beasley. Wash your feet often,
and scrub in between the toes. Keep 'em dry.
And change your socks often. Don't poison your locker room! Don't poison your home!
I personally consider this to be a very
important… if not THE MOST important story for the
future of college basketball and the NBA. High School phenom Brandon Jennings is not going to college next year… he’s going to spend a year playing in Europe. If this move works, then we’re about to see the end of college basketball as we know it. If it works, all the best high schoolers are going to go..
