This is it. The end of the line.
For college coaches, the end of July signifies their

Chris "The Birdman" Andersen will return to the
Denver Nuggets next season. He agreed to sign a
one-year contract with the team, multiple sources said Wednesday. Andersen, who resides in Denver, will make a league minimum $998,000 next season. Andersen, a forward-center, played sparingly last season for New Orleans after returning from a two-year league suspension for substance abuse.

The Chicago Bulls are having a tough time
resigning Ben Gordon and Luol Deng to long term
deals. One or both may be gone my the next season either via some sort of trade or free agency. Over the last couple years the Bulls have continued to pile up some great young talent via the draft by trade and a little luck. So should this young talent look to take over the team?

Here's John Hollinger's take on the Posey deal
: It's true that Posey brings three things to
the table: defense, rebounding and 3-point shooting. He's not an all-defense guy, but he's an above-average defender who can play multiple positions, and that's certainly helpful. So are the 3s -- in his past three campaigns he's hit 40.3 percent, 37.5 percent and 38.0 percent from downtown. And ...

Even though I recognized that I was overrating
James Posey's value to the Boston Celtics I continued
to write biased posts/comments about his departure. I guess that's what fans do. With that in mind it's worth checking out what John Hollinger and Kelly Dwyer had to say about Posey's new 4-year deal. Here's a hint - neither one saw the contract as a boon for New Orleans.

If blogging were reporting, I would've written up

So James Posey, who has helped the Miami
Heat and Boston Celtics to championships, is moving on
to New Orleans. The New Orleans Hornets offered Posey a 4-year $25 million contract, and the Celtics decided not to match. Should a team pay a key role player who helped them win a championship big money or should they get someone else to do the job for less money and invest elsewhere?
Well, the Posey era is over. This unofficially
marks the end of the '07-08 team, and means
that the squad we will be seeing in a few months will have some totally new elements, for good or bad. Obviously it's hard to see James go; on an emotional level it's very, very difficult. For while Garnett's intensity was the hallmark behind the championship, and Pierce the ignition, Posey personified
