Mike D'Antoni has accepted an offer to coach
the New York Knicks, according to a media reports.
The former Phoenix Suns coach, who was also sought by the Chicago Bulls, has accepted a four-year, $24 million deal to take over the Knicks, according to reports by Sports Illustrated and The Boston Globe, both citing a league source.
With Mike D' Antoni off to New York,
Paxson plans to interview Avery Johnson.

Mike D'Antoni skipped the Chicago Bulls (who are
perfect for his style of play) to coach the
lowly Knicks because they gave him more moola.
There was no perfect candidate for the Knicks'
coaching job because the roster is so bad and
in need of a wrecking ball. But Mike D'Antoni is not a good fit for these Knicks.
Spouting off about their "defensive philosopy" (to paraphrase
Mr. T, “You drafted a running team, fool!”), the
Bulls decline to make D'Antoni an offer and let the Knicks have him. Get ready for an assistant coach to get promoted on the cheap.
