Shooting guard J.R. Smith led the Nuggets in scoring with 14 for the second consecutive game as the team improved to 2-0 in exhibition matchups. Steve Nash led the Suns with 16 points as Phoenix fell to 1-2 in preseason competition. Playing for the first time under Head Coach Mike D'Antoni, the Knicks spent last week's practices adjusting to D'Antoni's fast-paced, up-and-down offense that helped the Suns average 110 points per game over the past four seasons. Mike D’Antoni might not be as crazy as we think—at least from a basketball standpoint. In fact, I would consider the guy more brave than crazy, especially when you consider the wretched mess he’s volunteered to clean up over at Madison Square Garden. It’s been five months since he was announced as the Knicks’ new head coach, and with opening night just a few weeks away, one’s got to wonder if D’Antoni truly realizes the severity of the situation he walked into.
