Joe Dumars Pulls an Allen Iverson (and Maybe More) Out of His Magic Hat
In Joe We Trust. Make it the Detroit Pistons’ official tagline, embroider it on Pistons’ memorabilia, inscribe it on the hardwood at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Palace guards; Stuckey, Afflalo boost backcourt
In 2002, the Pistons bypassed superstar Dwyane Wade and took Darko Milicic with the No. 2 overall pick. Four years later -- thanks to a trade that sent Milicic to Orlando -- they drafted a player many call the poor man's Wade.

 Tayshuan a PF?
Tayshuan a PF?
I started to read Keith Langlois’ newest True Blue blog post talking about what the Pistons lineup to finish games might look like and he talked about Rodney Stuckey being out there and sliding Tay over to the four. First thought, Tayshaun is not what I think about when I think of power forward. But, then Keith makes a some good points: Look at some of the power forwards in the ...

Billups isn’t ready to sit … but should he?
As much as I’d like to pretend otherwise, it’s officially time to ponder whether Chauncey Billups is healthy enough to make any kind of sustained impact in this series. I thought he turned a corner in Game 2, but in hindsight it seems ...

Shaq Says 'Laws of Physics' Are to Blame for Stuckey's Hard Fall

NBA Short Story: When Two Rookies Met an All-Star Veteran in a Metro-Detroit Palace
NBA Short Story: When Two Rookies Met an All-Star Veteran in a Metro-Detroit Palace
It has to feel at least a little bizarre walking onto an NBA court as a rookie and for the first time playing against an NBA Icon you grew up controlling in video games and watching on TV. Could you imagine actually getting out there in the open court, cameras flashing and drunken face-painters screaming, and really guarding, say, Steve Nash?

Pistons' Stuckey in line for start
Pistons' Stuckey in line for start
When the Detroit Pistons drafted Rodney Stuckey last June, they envisioned someday he would be their starting point guard -- but not under these circumstances. The 6-foot-5 rookie from Eastern Washington is expected to make his first NBA start tonight in place of Chauncey Billups, who returned home to deal with a "personal matter." A team official said Billups was with the team when they ...

What you didn't Know About Rodney Stuckey
What you didn't Know About Rodney Stuckey
NBA Rookie Rodney Stuckey garnered plenty of praise for his performance in the 2008 playoffs. The kid showed maturity while playing on the biggest stage for professional basketball and should see even more playing next year for the Pistons. Detroit, say hello to the future of your team. And it certainly looks bright. However, there are some things you don't know about Mr. Stuckey.

With Chauncey Billups Sidelined, Rookie Rodney Stuckey Pulled a Chauncey Billups
In Game 5 Tuesday night, Stuckey let the game come to him and rarely forced anything, committing no turnovers in just over 33 minutes. He got his teammates involved and didn’t worry as much about his own shot… until his team needed him to. He drove hard to the hole without a care in the world, drew fouls, and made big free throws down the stretch. Sounds a lot like somebody else on the Pistons.

Orlando finally beats Detroit
Okay, so Chauncey took a few liberties with the letter of the law with an extra step or two, but you have to admit that was a damn good shot. (Video via FanHouse .) I admit that as it left his fingertips I actually started shaking my head ...

 It’s all tied up
It’s all tied up
I say this without hyperbole: last night’s game was the most entertaining playoff game Detroit’s played in years. It was competitive throughout, the big names on both teams showed up and it came down to the very end. (And, of course, the ...
