The NBA's most sought-after free agent is going
to the Magic Kingdom. Rashard Lewis has given the
Orlando Magic a verbal commitment to leave the Seattle SuperSonics and sign a max contract on July 11, according to NBA front-office sources.
I’ve been posting links to other NBA fan

their assessments of their favorite team. Today is our turn. I’ll throw out my thoughts, but it’s up to you Sonics fans to fill in the ...

Referee Joe Forte quickly T's up Kobe Bryant
twice in the early minutes of the third quarter
against the Seattle Supersonics.
Scenario: A future Hall-of-Famer calls out his owner
and his GM, demanding a trade; his teammates mutter
off-the-record about greed and ego; meanwhile, the team seems stuck in the middle of the Western Conference. Kobe Bryant? Think again.

Well, it appears that $75 million is the
magic number. The City of Seattle accepted a cash
payout of $75 million from the PBC to allow the Sonics to leave their home of 41 years and move to Oklahoma City. That amount may or may not be repaid by Clay Bennett, et al if the city were to receive another team in the Sonics' stead. As you would imagine, more to come.

The San Antonio Spurs have reached agreement with
the SuperSonics that will bring them center Kurt Thomas
in exchange for guard Brent Barry, center Francisco Elson and a 2009 first-round draft pick, league sources said Wednesday. The teams are in the process of finalizing the deal with league officials.
Thomas Jefferson had several. George Washington was widely
rumored to have a few. Murphy Brown had only
one but sparked a nationwide debate. Somewhere in the middle is Shawn Kemp.
Let's talk about the end of an era...sigh...a
horrific chain of events that would lead the Cavaliers
to possibly move from Cleveland to Seattle some day. Because if LeBron James leaves town in two years, it could become a harsh reality.
