Shawn Marion trade talk is one thing. A
Marion trade request is quite another. Marion is fed
up with another summer of the Suns considering to trade him. Marion is irked that the team is not willing to talk about a contract extension. After eight ...
The Suns roster gets slower, older, and more
expensive. That Gasol trade is looking a lot more
reasonable now.
ESPN's Jim Gray reports that a league source
said that the latest trade scenario has Garnett landing
in Phoenix with the Suns, the Celtics picking up Phoenix forward Shawn Marion and the Wolves acquiring the 5th pick and players from Boston. The trade is basically contingent on whether Marion agrees to an extension with the Celtics.
The Herald goes on to report that a
trade of O'Neal to the Phoenix Suns for Shawn
Marion and Marcus Banks has been discussed. One of O'Neal's representatives told the newspaper that they were informed that talks with Phoenix were ongoing and serious.
The Celtics reached out for Shawn Marion before
Kevin Garnett, but supposedly got scared off when a
three-year extension for $45M was rebuffed by agent Dan Fegan. Truth is, Danny Ainge never made a formal offer to the Suns (for Marion) or Fegan, who had been talking to Phoenix about a $17M per extension. Truth is, Marion did not want to leave the Suns at that time
Shawn Marion, L.A. Laker? If he has his
way, that will happen. According to a league source,
the Lakers and Suns have been in discussions about a deal -- a blockbuster deal -- that would send the four-time All-Star to Los Angeles to play alongside ...

A look at how all Colangelo teams have
found their tragic flaw to be rebounding the basketball.
Why is this the case? Will Colangelo get it figured out? Does it really matter, considering the success of the Suns and Raptors?

Kevin Garnett may like Phoenix but he had
better figure out how he could possibly be traded
here. League sources still painted a Garnett-to-Phoenix deal as nearly impossible, although the Suns remain interested and Minnesota continues to push a ...
Line of the Night: Amare Stoudemire (6.1). 31
points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. 10-17 from the
field, 10-10 from the line. Two game-clinching free throws. It’s Stoudemire’s second straight game of at least 30 and 10. I think you could say he’s enjoying life without Shawn Marion. And the Suns seem to be doing OK for themselves too.
Last Wednesday was quite a day in Phoenix.
The Suns lost a double overtime thriller to the
New Orleans Hornets but that game--perhaps the game of the year so far in the NBA--was just an afterthought to the news that the Suns traded Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks to the Miami Heat for Shaquille O'Neal.
My initial reaction to yesterday's blockbuster trade between
the Heat and the Suns went something like this:
Shaq + Run-and-Gun + Contract = Suns Are Insane That was the initial reaction to the Shaquille O'Neal for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks deal between the Heat and Suns.

I was talking with Washington Times sports business
reporter Tim Lemke today about the Shaq for All-Star
forward Shawn Marion , and guard Marcus Banks deal between the Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns . The conversation went something like this: Lemke : “Maury, I’m trying to make sense of this deal. The NBA has a lot of emphasis placed on dealing with the salary cap… You think that’s why the ...
