Watch Out: Pistons a Surprising Threat in The Eastern Conference

The Pistons started the season off with two crucial injuries. Tayshaun Prince injured his back and has been out since about the third game of the season, and Richard Hamilton had an ankle sprain and has been out since the first game of the season.
John Kuester found himself in a situation where he had to find a way to replace Hamilton and Prince in that starting lineup with two elite players. So he started running the starting lineup consisting of Rodney Stuckey, Ben Gordon, Jonas Jerebko, Charlie Villanueva, and Ben Wallace.
Then the Pistons faced another injury to Ben Gordon which hurt the Pistons even more in scoring. Which then led to a lineup of Rodney Stuckey, Chucky Atkins, Jonas Jerebko, Charlie Villanueva, and Ben Wallace.
Then once again the Pistons faced another injury to Charlie Villanueva who suffered a broken nose and has been taken out of the starting lineup to provide the spark the Pistons need off the bench. Which now leads to the Rodney Stuckey, Chucky Atkins, Jonas Jerebko, ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NBA, Detroit Pistons, Rodney Stuckey, Richard Hamilton, Ben Gordon, Tayshaun Prince, Will Bynum

Ankle sidelines Pistons G Gordon again (AP)

Detroit guard Ben Gordon sat out the Pistons' game Wednesday night against Philadelphia because of a sprained left ankle. Gordon injured the ankle in late November and missed two games before returning to play. Gordon is averaging 18.7 points. He played 12 minutes Sunday against Washington. The Pistons have already been playing without Richard Hamilton (ankle) and Tayshaun Prince (back).

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NBA, Ben Gordon, Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers, Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince

Despite Injures, Pistons Headed In The Right Direction

The Pistons have hit the recession.
Entering their second stage of reconstruction this year, the Pistons have been working tirelessly to fold their mix of new talent into a successful formula.
Though they have a losing record, the effort they put in every game exceeds all of the expectations that their critics threw at them over the summer.
Although they are missing veterans Rip Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince, they are rapidly patching the gaping hole that Chauncey Billups left behind when he left for Denver last season.
And though they have not met expectations, they have, in nearly every way, fixed the debacle fans witnessed last season.
This team has put its championship swagger behind them.
It's back to the drawing board, and things seem rough.
In addition to this, they have a starting rookie (Jerebko), a spanking new coach (Kuester), and injuries to Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Ben Gordon, and Charlie Villanueva.
But they're hanging in.
