Spurs forward Tim Duncan sends Game 1 of
the first-round match-up with the Phoenix Suns into a
second overtime by knocking down his first three-point field goal of the season.
Were these offensive fouls legitimate, or did All-Defensive
First Teamer's Bruce Bowen and Tim Duncan *sell* the
calls to the referees?
The indispensible, amazingly illustrated companion to today's NBA—a
roundball Rosetta Stone that hilariously decodes the trends and
tendencies of pro basketball. The NBA of the moment is a league of hugely charismatic celebrities, crackling ...
Tim Duncan gets ejected for laughing during a
game versus the Dallas Mavericks.
Like it or not, the Spurs are about
to capture their 4th title in the past 9
years, and Tim Duncan is a huge part of it. In The Magazine last month , Bill Simmons made the case for The Big Fundamental being the best NBA player of the past 10 years. It got me to thinking ... if Duncan's the best player from the past 10 years, what about prior 10-year periods? '87-'97 seems pretty obvious, ...
Pluses: On the surface, Buford's accomplishments appear to
be mitigated by the presence of David Robinson (drafted
in 1987) and Tim Duncan ('97), and the stern influence of Gregg Popovich calling the shots from the bench while wielding a heavy hand in ...
Suns blog Bright Side of the Sun has
video from a commenter of Tim Duncan leaving the
bench during a minor dust-up in the 2nd quarter of Monday night's game 4 in San Antonio. The Suns have said they will make sure the league is aware of this, what will the response be?
There is no denying Ron’s positive effect on
Queensbridge This interview was conducted this summer in Long
Island as Ron was getting ready for the season–just days after the referee gambling scandal hit the press. (more…) ...
Mildly mourning the Spurs.
Notoriously shiny-headed referee Joey Crawford has been suspended
indefinitely by the NBA for his ridiculous ejection of
Tim Duncan from the recent Spurs-Mavs game.
Bucks announcer steps into Brew Hoop.
Last season I touched on an issue that
I have yet to see anyone else really cover.
I'm pretty sure I was the first person to comment on what actually happens during a D-League drug test. Considering the fact that I was never once drug tested in college, it was a completely new experience for me. I was nervous, embarrassed, and a little confused about the whole situation.
There were a lot of unhappy NBA fans
outside of Texas after the Spurs dispatched the Hornets
on Monday, but none more displeased than Lakers fans. Instead of being the veteran squad facing a young and inexperienced New Orleans team Los Angles is now squaring off against a group of cagey vets with a lot more playoff success.
Shaq’s criticisms didn’t end with Kobe. He also
took the opportunity to bash Patrick Ewing and imply
that he’s had a better career than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Patrick Ewing never won a championship. Ewing was denied by Jordan five times, Olajuwon once, and Tim Duncan in 1999. Shaq is more than familiar with all three of those guys. Olajuwon gave O’Neal the lesson of his life...
Here's Duncan coming on the floor during the
2nd quarter of Game 4
Basketbawful reader Jesse provided a nice little follow-up
to the Duncan face post. The following video proves
that the Duncan face is, in fact, a contagious disease...and all the Spurs have caught it. Hmm. It might be time to quarantine the greater ...
This is why we watch. When Tim Duncan
made a 7-foot hook shot to put the defending
champions up by 20 (65-45) with just under 6 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter, all looked lost: the game, the series, and the Lakers season. I felt sick to my stomach. There was no way, no way, that they could possibly squander such a commanding advantage, right? Cue Kobe Bean Bryant.
From the Dallas Morning News blog: Referee Joey
Crawford has been suspended indefinitely by the NBA for
"improper conduct" toward Tim Duncan in the Mavs-Spurs game on Sunday. More to come.
This video below shows how Nike loves to
help spread the NBA empire around the world...selling millions
of pairs of shoes in the meantime. Although if they are trying to sell shoes, i'm not sure why Nike didn't show the shoes in these ads. Maybe its because most the people who are watching this ad are doing so in the 2 hours of free time they have in between sleep and slaving away in some ...
