Chris Bosh had 29 points and 12 rebounds, Andrea Bargnani had 24 points and 10 rebounds and the Toronto Raptors beat the Miami Heat 120-113 on Friday night to snap a three-game losing streak. It's the second straight game that Bosh and Bargnani each had a double-double, after doing it in Wednesday's 104-91 loss at Utah.

Shawn Marion has left the Dallas Mavericks' game at Milwaukee with a sprained ankle and will not return. Marion departed with 2:19 to go in the first half Monday night and the team said early in the third quarter he would not return. The forward finished with six points. The 31-year-old Marion was acquired from Toronto in a four-team, eight-player deal in July.

Williams returned to practice Monday after missing two games to be with his daughter while she went through medical tests for an undisclosed condition. Williams says he has no updates on his daughter's health, but does plan to be with the Jazz when they play the Raptors. Williams left the team halfway through an Eastern Conference road trip last week and returned to Utah.

The Raps played some good basketball this week, but were burned in a thriller vs the Suns to cap off the week in a bad way. Record: 2-2 Performance on Scale of 1-10: 8 Positives —This squad is really starting to come together. The defense is actually improving, Jose Calderon has played MUCH better, Chris Bosh has still been unreal, and they overall have shown a lot of grit. Andrea Bargnani is finally starting to be a consistent offensive player. Offensively, Hedo Turkoglu is starting to come in to play hitting big shots and helping us down the stretch. Coming back from 22 is a sign of a good team. Negatives —The Raptors often have to come from behind, which will burn them against good teams. This team is still weak defensively, and down the stretch of games it hurts them. They still haven't supported Chris Bosh well enough, and that thriller in Phoenix was a game that should have won. Overall, they are improving substantially, and look for more improvements this week. Let's hope ...

The Toronto Raptors have been in the Association for 15 years this year, and well they haven't really made the jump from an expansion franchise to a franchise that is constantly on tv and makes the playoffs almost annually. Whether it was the false hope in Damon Stoudamire, or the memorable but brief Carter/McGrady era, which was crippled by bringing in overpaid veterans and trying to build a team around a pure scorer. Perhaps it was Carter's departure, which was in the horrible Rob Babcock era which brought the Raptors such busts as Rafael Arujo. Whatever the cause, it seemed like the Raptors were headed to be a basement team to suffer the same fate as their countrymen the Grizzlies, and be shipped back to the the US. But then Bryan Colangelo was hired and the team has been retooled and overhauled with a focus on European talent and height at every position. The Raptors have been one of the NBA's most exciting teams of late and won the 07-08 Atlantic Division title. They have real potential ...
