Phil Jasner reports the Sixers have opened discussions
with Lou Williams on an extension. There have been
rumors circulating that the Warriors are interested in Lou, so it would behoove the Sixers to get an extension done before someone signs him to a ...
Jason Hart is returning to the Los Angeles
Clippers.
Man, them Clippers are busy little beavers this
summer. Their latest transaction involves a point guard exchange,
one that will send Brevin Knight to Utah for Jason Hart. Hardly a deal that will set the NBA, the Pacific Division or even Staples Center on fire, it’s nonetheless a sneaky good little move for [...]

Welcome TrueHoop. With the 23rd pick of the 2008
NBA Draft the Utah Jazz selected Kosta Koufos, a 7'1" center from Canton, OH. Many Jazz fans immediately tagged him as yet another stiff white ...
All the action from Day 4 of the
Rocky Mountain Revue
The first thing I wondered after looking at
the box score to the Warriors first victory in
Utah was, “Who are these guys?” Turns out, the Warriors handily beat the Nets with a bunch of guys who’ve never played a regular season game for Golden State...
A couple of quick thoughts before my mother
hits town: -Not sure if you've been following this,
but apparently my half-assed joke about C.J. Miles's mic prowess alienating Larry Miller was taken WAY too seriously in Utah. Oddly, they made no ...
"He's [Deron Williams] going to be smiling for
the next four years" because of his new contract
worth up to $70 million, Boozer said. "And we will, too, because we'll have him on our side."
TAYLORSVILLE — By the hundreds, they sported red
and green clothes and face paint, waved their country's
flags and posters, and stomped, clapped, chanted and cheered for their nation's best players. They even brought a kazoo-like horn that continually blared on — to the surprise of some — all game long. The FIBA Asian champions didn't beat the Jazz, but give the Iranian national team and ...
All the action from Day 1 of the
Rocky Mountain Revue.
So, I guess we now understand why CJ
Miles decided to forgo playing with the Utah Jazz
in the Rocky Mountain Revue. CJ signed an offer sheet with the Oklahoma City Thunde r on Friday, worth $15 million over 4 years. The Jazz have until next Friday to decide whether or not to match and retain Miles. The offer sheet seems like just enough to make you wonder what the Jazz will do. With a ...
Now that CJ is on his way to
the prarie, the Jazz suddenly have an open roster
slot. (CJ is not officially gone; but he will be, marks my word). So, assuming that the Jazz put someone in that 15th slot (a big assumption) who do they nab? A Restricted Free Agent : Most of the guys that I wanted when free agency began are gone. But there is one big afro still on that list who hasn't signed ...
For the Utah Jazz, complacency is not an
option. Yet this offseason has, once again, sent signals
around the NBA that the team prefers a holding pattern rather than an aggressive approach on the market. Last season Utah went 54-28 but lost to the ...

Before free agency started, the over/under on the
amount of money the Jazz would match as an
offer for C.J. Miles was about $3 million a season. At least that was the feeling among people I talked to from outside the organization. Now Miles has ...
T he Sacramento Kings have expressed interest in

Point guard Deron Williams signed a contract extension
with Utah on Friday that will keep him with
the Jazz through at least the 2011-12 season.
Oklahoma City has signed restricted free agent guard
C.J. Miles to an offer sheet.
Posted: 5:51 PM- There won't be anybody questioning
C.J. Miles' decision to skip the Rocky Mountain Revue
any longer. Now the Jazz's biggest concern is whether Miles will be playing for another team entirely this season. Miles signed a four-year, $15 ...
Samad Bahrami and his teammates are visiting Utah
on a mission clouded by grave political overtones. But
it has nothing to do with missile tests, nuclear ambitions, terrorism or the threat of war. For them, it's all about basketball.
Did anyone actually doubt that the Utah Jazz
wouldn't lock up Deron Williams?
From the beginning, Deron Williams told Jazz general
manager Kevin O'Connor that he wanted to reach an
agreement on a contract extension before he left for USA Basketball training camp in Las Vegas and headed from there to the Olympics. Not only did ...

Posted: 3:31 PM- The Jazz and guard Deron
Williams have agreed to a contract extension, according to
Williams' agent, Bob McClaren. According to sources, the extension is for three years with a fourth-year option and will pay Williams the maximum ...
The contract extension talks that extended longer than
some suspected they would finally have come to a
conclusion. The Jazz and point guard Deron Williams will formalize a multiyear extension guaranteed to be worth about $50 million over three ...

I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw
the comments from Utah Jazz GM Kevin O’Connor regarding
Carlos Boozer’s impending 2009 free agency. Boozer, the same player who abandoned Cleveland in what many feel was a pre-arranged “double-cross”, has a player option in 2009.
Not only did the Timberwolves get a first-round
draft pick from the Philadelphia 76ers for Rodney Carney
and Calvin Booth, but Philadelphia also will pick up almost all of Carney's and Booth's salaries for next season, which total nearly $3 million. ...
TrueHoop guest host Maurice Brooks found this bizarre
column out of Utah , in which the Salt
Lake Tribune 's Ross Siler uncovers Jazz coach Jerry Sloan 's crusades against bleached hair and Kyrylo Fesenko 's goofy persona. Fesenko bleached his hair, ...
I got this email today and was surprised
to learn that the Jazz are #1 in season
ticket sales. There are a couple ways that this conclusion could be reached. 1) total number of season tickets owned; 2) highest number sold since the season ended; 3) percentage of seats owned by season ticket holders. The email doesn't say what data was used, but it's surprising no matter what formula was used.
How many blonds does it take to change
a coach's mind? In the case of Jerry Sloan,
one's certainly not enough even if he's 7-foot-1 and oozing with potential. Indeed, it's going to take much more than a mere dye job for Kyrylo Fesenko to make a ...
It's safe to say that the first time
he saw the new-look Kyrylo Fesenko over the weekend,
Jazz coach Jerry Sloan didn't exactly feel as if he'd dyed and gone to heaven. Fesenko returned to town for the Rocky Mountain Revue with blond hair, apparently ...

It's a weird time to be Utah guard
C.J. Miles. The Dallas product, who just finished his
third season, is only 21. He's not as good as Monta Ellis or Louis Williams -- fellow high school guards who fell to the second round in the 2005 draft, but ...
