As many as 20 Florida State football players
will be suspended from playing against Kentucky in the
Dec. 31 Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl, as well as the first three games of the 2008 season, for their roles in an alleged cheating scandal involving an Internet-based course, a source with knowledge of the situation said Tuesday morning.

When the story about the twenty plus Florida
State University players being taken off the roster for
the upcoming bowl game came out, I thought it was so widely covered that I had no business speaking about it. But then the more I read, the more I thought about it, the more I said to myself that this should be something I touch on, because this is the “dark side” of sports.

Andre Woodson of Kentucky is ranked number 1.
Brian Brohm of Louisville may be a bit steamed,
because he's ranked No. 2 and he's never lost to Woodson dating back to high school. Whether he is a true "Number 1" or not, it's good to see someone besides players from USC, Notre Dame, Florida, Florida State, etc. get some recognition.

Casey Weldon took Class A North Florida Christian
to consecutive state title games in two years at
the helm. He was fired last Wednesday, North Florida Christian citing God's will. "It is the consensus of our school administration that this is God's will for what North Florida Baptist Church is trying to do through the program of North Florida Christian School." Weldon was a Florida State alum.

Of the three bowl games tonight this is
the only one that has a ranked team in
it. Probably a ranked team that, if they had taken care of business, would be in a BCS bowl instead of this one. They lost 2 games that they should have won (Florida State and Maryland) and this is the result. The matchup for the Champs Sports Bowl is between #14 Boston College (10-3) and Michigan State (7-5)..

West Virginia has its program in athletic coaching.
Florida State, of course, has its music courses. However,
the courses offered at China's Beijing Foreign Affairs School make these programs look like PhDs in Biochemistry in comparison. In preparation for this summer's 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Beijing Foreign Affairs School is offering a full program in medal presenting.

Kentucky (7-5) squares off against Florida State (7-5)
at 4 pm EST today in the Music City
Bowl. I think the Wildcats should ask for their money back since there won’t be anything good coming out of this game, with the off the field shenanigans that have come to light at FSU. I have to say that for the first time in this bowl season there is finally a team I truly want to see lose, and that's FSU.
