Ranking the ACC After Week 13 of College Football Action

  1. Georgia Tech (8-3, 5-3)—Last week: 3
Georgia Tech put on a clinic of option football last Thursday night against Miami. The Jackets ran for 472 yards against a very solid Miami defense. I said that right...472 yards of rushing, and it could have easily been well over 500 if coach Paul Johnson hadn't started pulling his starters early in the 4th quarter.
Now comes arch-rival, the Georgia Bulldogs. The Yellow Jackets have exceeded all expectations, and are only a Virginia Tech loss from being in the ACC Championship game, but beat UGA, and a good season becomes great.
They'll erect a stature of Paul Johnson in center of the Georgia Tech campus, if he can pull this win off. GT fans want this one bad, really bad.

  2. Boston College (8-3, 4-3)—Last week: 4 ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NCAA Football, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Paul Johnson, Butch Davis, Jeff Jagodzinski, Clemson Tigers, Bobby Bowden

ACC Power Rankings After Week 13

I think I will make an attempt at ranking the ACC 1-12 this week after going for the "tier rankings" the past few weeks. I am hoping to offend as many fans as possible. 1. Virginia Tech 2. Georgia Tech 3. Boston College 4. Florida State 5. Maryland 6. North Carolina 7. Miami 8. Wake Forest 9. Clemson 10. Virginia 11. NC State 12. Duke No. 1-11 was pretty hard to pick from each other. No. 1 lost to No. 7 who lost to No. 6 who lost to No. 11 who lost to No. 5 who lost to No. 10 who lost to No.12.
The top four are there because they are still in contention for the division title. Virginia Tech and Boston College win and they are in. If they lose then Georgia Tech and Florida State would go. GT beat FSU and BC this season, while Va Tech lost to FSU. It should be interesting. National Top 5 1. Florida 2. Alabama 3. Texas 4. Oklahoma 5. USC I am a bowl guy, but that would be in awesome playoff scenario with these five teams squaring off. Last Week: 1-3 ATS, 2-2 SU Season: 29-21-2 ATS, 34-18 SU ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NCAA Football, Virginia Tech Hokies, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Florida State Seminoles, North Carolina Tar Heels, North Carolina State Wolfpack

ACC Division Races On My Mind

The ACC is a little clearer now with Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech striving for the Coastal while FSU and Boston College still have a shot at the Atlantic.
If Virginia Tech beats Virginia, then the Hokies return to the ACC Championship Game. If they lose then Georgia Tech will go in Paul Johnson's first year. Maryland and Boston College will meet in Chesnut Hill this weekend.
If BC wins, they go to Tampa. If Maryland wins, then FSU will go by virtue of their win this past Saturday in College Park. I picked FSU to win at Maryland . The Terps have not done very well against unranked teams and FSU was unranked coming into the game. Last week, Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen said he didn't know what to think of his team. That didn't give me a whole lot of confidence in the Terrapins.
At kickoff, I did get a little worried about the temperature knowing FSU had not practiced in that weather, but they handled it nicely. The Seminoles lost to Georgia Tech, but beat Virginia Tech during the regular ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NCAA Football, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Virginia Tech Hokies, Paul Johnson, Maryland Terrapins
