Loyola Greyhounds Archive |
The Web's most popular Loyola Greyhounds news, videos, and blogs archive.
And you thought the committee that determines the
NCAA Basketball Tournament was bad? Imagine a #1 seed
had to play a #8 seed in the 2nd round of the basketball tournament in the home city of the #8 seed? Wouldn't they throw an epileptic fit and the rules would be changed quicker than Dick Vitale could put Duke and North Carolina in his preseason Top 5 for next year?
As the Syracuse lacrosse team waits to play
their next game against Loyola at the Carrier Dome
this Saturday (on Time Warner Channel 26) one of the players on the squad got some good news.
Over the weekend, #18 Loyola tried like hell
to make the #2 Syracuse Men's Lax team play
their pace. Slow and deliberate. The Orange would have none of it, out-shooting the Greyhounds 56-28 and winning 13-8. Loyola raced out to the 2-0 lead and controlled the tempo early but the Orange adjusted and took over in the 2nd half:
Syracuse University (7-1), ranked second in the country,
played a great game against Loyola (4-4) yesterday, winning
by the score of 13-8.
As I mentioned in my blog yesterday, with
the combination of Syracuse beating Loyola and Maryland upsetting
Virginia the Orange now hold the number one spot in the Nation when it comes to Men's lacrosse.
