Syracuse dominated North Carolina from start to finish. North Carolina was stopped cold by the Orangemen's 2-3 zone. The Tar Heels were exploited, they will not beat a team all year that forces them to shoot threes. Will Graves is their best three point theat and he's no more a threat from three than your average intramural all-star. No matter what the polls say, at this point, the Orangemen have established themselves as the team to beat in all of college basketball. Kansas hasn't played anyone, Duke looks good with Plumlee in the middle, but they too haven't played a formidable opponent. Syracuse is the team to beat as far as I am concerned. Wesley Johnson introduced himself to the Syracuse faithful with 25 points against UNC. OSU-UNC: Buckeyes Keep It Close But Fall Short, 77-73

The Buckeyes once again show that they just aren’t ready to compete with college basketball’s elite teams. On a night where OSU would have to play the perfect game, they were riddled with turnovers and poor shooting. Midway through the second half four Buckeyes had four fouls. All four players were starters and the team quickly found themselves down 19. They scrapped and clawed their way back, but fell short in the end, 77-73. The main area of concern for OSU was the post play, and it continued to become a larger concern as both Madsen and Lauderdale combine for six points, seven rebounds, and eight fouls. Evan Turner once again did all he could to carry the Buckeyes. He was the teams leading scorer with 23 points and eight rebounds. Unfortunately he also led in another category, turnovers. Roy Williams and Mike Kryzewski have had many of their star players join the NBA in the past years. Some of these players became stars as expected but others never prospered like once thought. The North Carolina-Duke rivalry is arguably the biggest rivalry in all of college sports.The Duke and North Carolina basketball programs are two of the most represented programs in the NBA along with the Connecticuit Men's basketball program. Duke and North Carolina have been the staples for many years and will be for many years to come.
