For all of us Tar Heels football fans
there is good news coming in from the Board
of Trustees. As of their last meeting they have approved the first phase of plans for the expansion of Kenan Stadium.
As the National Football League gets into the
pre-season mode I check around to see how the
ex Tar Heels are doing. Of course the one that stands out the most is first rounder Kentwan Balmer, picked 29th by the San Francisco 49'ers.

There’s really no humorous set-up to do it
justice, so we’ll just go ahead and straight out
tell you. Meet North Carolina wrestler Long Wang : CHICAGO BULL gave us the heads up in pointing out this athlete with the penile-enhanced ...
I guess as the season comes closer and
closer it is now time to begin talking about
the opponents of the Tar Heels. I am going to respectfully skip McNeese State, as it is a Division IAA, err, a Football Championship Subdivision, team and I am not going to find much about them, and I know even less of that team. So I will begin with the second game of the season against Rutgers.
UPDATE - A UNC fan blog picks up
on this post and responds, giving three good reasons
Carolina shouldn’t play App State. They all boil down to - “App State might win.” And you call yourself a BCS program. Now ain’t this cute. ...
A little blog caught my eye as I
was reading around the ACC blogosphere. It talks about
the Appalachian State head coach wanting to play North Carolina. Even stating that coach Jerry Moore has tried to schedule the Tar Heels in his schedule and that Carolina has "balked" at it.
The University of North Carolina's Board of Trustees
approved the design for a first phase of plans
to substantially expand the Tar Heels' football stadium.
Welcome to the beginning of the hype, where
each and every type of poll will come out
to find out who is the best in one conference or another. Yes, this is the beginning of we fans/bloggers/lovers of the college gridiron begin to come out of the summer shell and develop that good feeling about our football team once again.
GREENSBORO, Ga. â Clemson and Virginia Tech will
be picked as the favorites to win the ACC
by the gathered media at the Reynolds Plantation for the ACC Kickoff but UNC sophomore Deunta Williams has another idea. "I feel like we'll win the ACC ...
As we all know, Alex Stepheson asked to
transfer after the spring semester, stating that it was
because of his father's health. While some think it is because of playing time, I'm going to believe the young man and say that he did it for family reasons. From what I have read around the Internet it seems that Stepheson will become a USC Trojan as of this fall.
While people everywhere were going off on the
fact that someone on the national team was putting
their NCAA ring on eBay and selling it, I didn't touch the story for a second. Why? Because (pun alert) it had a bad "ring" to it.
After all the bad blood I have made
from the Brandon Jennings debacle, here comes a story
from ex Tar Heels that proves my point about getting an education. Sean May and Marvin Williams, both players from North Carolina's last championship team, are working towards their degrees at UNC.

As most of you that follow the ex
Tar Heels would know, Antawn Jamison signed a very
nice deal this off season, making him a Wizard for another four years. Since I try to keep tabs on the players that once played in Chapel Hill I figured I'd find a good blogger that follows the Washington team and ask him some questions about the three ex Heels on the squad.
People sometimes ask me why I'm proud of
being a Tar Heel. Well, in about 5 lines
you can understand it all. And those five lines are written in this short blog on the official web site of UNC Athletics.
Former Harvard-Westlake High of Studio City and North
Carolina forward Alex Stepheson informed USC he intends to
transfer to the school in the fall, according to sources close to Stepheson. The 6-foot-9 junior also considered UCLA and Arizona State ...
Looking around I found that ESPN has released
the tv schedule for the 10th ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
From what you will see below ESPN and ESPN2 will show nine of the games and ESPNU will televise the other two games of the Challenge.
AKRON, Ohio -- North Carolina coach Roy Williams
made it clear to his Tar Heels that if
they don't put the team first in their quest for a national title, they won't play for him next season. "If I feel that someone is out for themselves, I don't give ...

In a somewhat expected move, North Carolina transfer

Even though I didn't blog about it, last
month the North Carolina baseball team lost one of
their assistant coaches, Chad Holbrook, who decided to take a job at South Carolina. Well, a couple of days ago head coach Mike Fox found Holbrook's replacement, by hiring Scott Jackson.
Just a small follow up to the blog
I had done about how Marcus Ginyard had missed
a court date and articles had made it news when it wasn't. Well, had these media people done their homework they would have found that this wasn't the senior's fault, but his lawyer's.
We noted this morning , based on a
report at the L.A. Daily News, that UNC transfer
Alex Stepheson had indeed committed to USC. It appears that the DN, and subsequently us at Conquest Chronicles were premature with that report. All Things Trojan ...

We're not quite fearless enough to predict UNC
won't win the national title.
When Sean May was a star forward at
North Carolina, he often could be found slouched in
the back of his classes, just trying to get through his seminars and to the next Tar Heels practice. But now he sits front and center at UNC each summer.
