Everybody knows guys like D.J. Augustin, Drew Neitzel,
Tyler Hansbrough and Kevin Love. But there are a
bunch of guys that don’t get the recognition that play one mean game of basketball… Here’s a starting 5 that could play some serious ball…
Maryland's Greivis Vasquez is making a lot of
mistakes and shouldering much of the blame for his
team's woes. Sound familiar? Remember Brett Favre's 2005 season with 29 interceptions after which he wanted to retire? I do, too.
Happy New Year, and if the greeting is
almost two days late, well, hey, so is this
week's Bog Poll, which by the way Big Stein didn't even run this week. But I promised limericks, so limericks ye shall have: 1. Georgetown Final Four looks to be within reach For the Hoyas again if they each Learn how best to convert At a rate like Hibbert Best we’ve seen since the baskets held ...
In what is a complete, utter and altogether
pleasant surprise, GMU is headed back to the NCAA
Tournament. It was pretty clear throughout the season that this was a team that had to win the CAA tourney to get a bid, and thanks to William & Mary ...
You've surely heard by now: Duke lost to
West Virginia earlier today, a product of both the
Mountaineers' strength -- Joe Alexander went for +20 and +10 yet again, and Bob Huggins got a near triple-double from reserve point guard Joe Mazzulla -- and the Dookies' inability to turn themselves from unathletic, three-point shooting team into a tourney-ready squad. A less humble blogger would here ...
Bigdaddy Wildcats Thunder Administrator Kentucky women's head basketball
coach Matthew Mitchell has named Wendy Palmer ( left
) a 11 year WNBA veteran and a WNBA All-Star to his coaching staff. Palmer was a assistant coach at Virginia Commonwealth for ...
I'd rather see the reward go to a
conference's best team, as opposed to a team who
happened to get hot and string a few wins together at the end of the season. Look at VCU, who was three games better than anyone else in their conference. They might end up sitting at home watching William & Mary go dancing in their spot.
The 24th ranked Carolina (2-0-0) Men's Soccer team
took care of their second opponent in the Carolina
Nike Classic today, beating VCU in OT, with only goal of the match.

FanHouse : As slinky Virginia Commonwealth point guard Eric
Maynor repeatedly abused Duke's Greg Paulus - and whomever else wanted to get crossed up - in the final minutes of the Rams' scintillating...
Thanks to 5 Star Hoops I was able
to record an interview with Virginia Commonwealth’s head coach
Anthony Grant. Some of the topics we covered in our interview include; winning a National Championship at Florida and guard Eric Maynor accepting an invitation to participate in the USA Basketball Men’s Pan American Games Team Trials.
The Terps lost again to VCU. In doing
so, they are showing their character and how the
rest of the season will go. It's not good news.
Just your typical pep band leader. I'd heard
tales of the VCU pep band leader's legendary shirt-shedding
performances for ever so long, but most of the videos didn't do it justice. This one, in which Ryan Kopacsi gets down to a white t-shirt, was ...
Filed under: Duke Basketball , ACC Basketball ,
Mid-Majors Basketball , March Madness The FanHouse : There
was only one upset yesterday (I don't consider a 9 beating an 8 an upset), but the winner, Virginia Commonwealth, isn't actually getting much...
Prediction: Win Why: The Tigers would love to
pull off the upset, but it won't happen against
a team gearing up for the C-USA title game. Posted by Michael Murphy at 08:56 PM | Comments (3) August 25, 2007 Non-conference hoops sked The non-conference ...
Apologies for the delay. No real excuse. But
there were no Local games last night, so nothing
changed. There is at least unanimity at the top, with Georgetown first on 65 of 65 ballots. After that? What's the opposite of unanimity? Virginia Tech ...
Georgetown loses for the second time, so if
wind conditions were perfect, the other teams in the
poll could get a whiff of the Hoyas, but they still can't see them. VCU stays strong atop the CAA. Virginia Tech pushes ahead with a win at Virginia, but it's a weak statement when combined with a bad loss at Georgia Tech. Mason still stalking VCU, squeezes ahead of UVA, who could have made a bid ...
The VCU Rams come to town tomorrow night
in what could possibly be the biggest game of
the season for the Patriots. The game could end deciding who ends up first in the standings, as the Patriots are two games behind the Rams for first place.
After a little tourney success, VCU players have
to think about the kids.
