Coach Kiki Vandeweghe says the New Jersey Nets are awaiting results of an MRI that Chris Douglas-Roberts had on his left knee. Vandeweghe wasn't sure how Douglas-Roberts, who scored seven points in 38 minutes of a 107-91 loss Friday at Indiana, was injured. Trenton Hassell started in Douglas-Roberts' small forward spot Sunday against Atlanta.

Another Net bites the dust

Another injury for the Nets. Chris Douglas-Roberts has a mildly sprained left knee and his status is day-to-day. He's sitting out the game against the Hawks tonight. Douglas-Roberts injured himself on Friday night in Indiana and had an MRI this morning. He missed 12 games last season because of a sprain in his other knee but he thinks this one is not as bad. "It doesn't really hurt," he said. *** Tony Battie (knee) and Keyon Dooling (hip) are also out. Dooling was initially going to play but was ruled out about 90 minutes before game-tiime. *** Jarvis Hayes, out since opening night with a pulled hamstring, did a series of semi-sprints on the court before the game, the most he's done since he hurt himself, he said. Hayes expects to be back sometime right after Christmas.
