Pace playing overseas this season
Another great player from Syracuse's national championship team is headed overseas to play this season. Joining Gerry McNamara, who is playing in Latvia, is Josh Pace, who is going to be in Estonia this year as a member of the BC Kalev.

Donte has a lot of faults, but not all are because of him
Before I write this post let me say that I am one of the many (and I should say MANY) people that thought Donte Greene should stay under the tutelage of head coach Jim Boeheim and his staff for one more year.

 Carmelo Anthony’s Greatest Dunk
Carmelo Anthony’s Greatest Dunk
Say what you want about Carmelo Anthony, but when it comes to Olympic play there isn’t a better offensive weapon on Team USA. In 2007, Anthony was the 2nd leading scorer at the 2007 FIBA World Championships with 21.2 ppg average (191 points in 9 ...

Team USA's scrimmages set
Even if Team Canada is out of contention to go to the Olympics Syracuse fans will still get to see them in action, meaning you will see Andy Rautins play. But I think the SU fan base is going a bit happier because Team Canada will be part of a five game exhibition series that Team USA (with ex Orange Carmelo Anthony and SU head coach Jim Boeheim) will be playing before heading to Bejing.

A couple of possible recruits for HC Boeheim
A couple of possible recruits for HC Boeheim
Even with head coach Jim Boeheim deep into his USA Basketball commitments it doesn't look like his coaching staff is letting anything, or should I say anyone, get past their attentive eyes.

Greene hits for 40!
For those of you that follow Syracuse basketball but didn't see this (and I don't know how you wouldn't), two nights ago, in his debut of the NBA Summer League, Donte Greene had 40 points. Yes, let me repeat that, forty!

Another tid bit about what Boeheim thinks of the Jennings story
As I continued to dig over the blog about Brandon Jennings and his going to Europe because he didn't pass the SAT's I found another piece that has head coach Jim Boeheim talking about the situation. And just like last blog I did coach Boeheim is sharp and to the point, and just like last time, I believe him to be fully correct.

 Time to take a stand!
Time to take a stand!
Those of you that read this blog or know me personally know that, while I enjoy Syracuse Men's basketball, I have sometimes been critical of head coach Jim Boeheim. Well, if I'm going to be critical of someone when I think he's wrong, I think that I should also have his back when he's right in what he does or says. Right about now is where you are going to wonder what I am babbling about...

How many SU basketball players could go in the `09 NBA Draft?
How many SU basketball players could go in the `09 NBA Draft?
I know that most of the pre-season rankings never stand up, and imagine when the rankings are done about a year minus a week from when things are supposed to happen. But, this is the Y2K era and in this era of multimedia outlets, you know that each ranking and Top 25 or 50 or 100 is worth looking at.

Isaiah Armwood picks Nova over SU
As most Syracuse sites have reported already, Isaiah Armwood has picked a Big East opponent, Villanova, over the Orange as the college he is going to play for. Of course, from what most people are saying and I agree with, this was almost a foregone conclusion once Syracuse landed Wesley Johnson.

 Players do get tired...
Players do get tired...
One thing that I have always shook my head at when listening to Bud Poliquin is the fact that he likes to tell anyone that is listening to the radio show he co-hosts that people who think that student-athletes that play at the college level get tired are nuts.

 Gerry McNamara's future...
Gerry McNamara's future...
Reading about recruits coming to Syracuse and hearing head coach Jim Boeheim talk about his SU team and the USA team, plus the small blog about one of the Orange's ex players who is now going to be an assistant coach, made me think about another ex player who I (as well as many others) thought would have a stint in the NBA.

Glenn Bryant, the next SU hoops recruit?
Glenn Bryant, the next SU hoops recruit?
Reading around about Syracuse I stumbled upon an article that talked about a player that was high on the SU program. Glenn Bryant, a 6'7" 190 lbs. power forward, who currently attends Oak Hill Academy said that he liked Syracuse because of their run and gun style and because they play zone defense.
