prepare for offseason workouts. Instead, he told them goodbye. Beilein, who took the Mountaineers from mediocrity to two NCAA tournaments and an NIT championship, is moving on to Michigan. "Sometimes good things come to an end," Beilein told a news conference in Morgantown, W.Va.

An early, optimistic look at what might be
in store for Michigan basketball now that UM has
hired John Beilein.
Incoming Michigan basketball freshman Alex Legion was released
from his letter of intent Monday and is free
to sign with any school. Legion, a shooting guard from Oak Hill (Va.) Academy ranked among the country's top 50 recruits, had been noncommittal about his future with Michigan since John Beilein was hired as coach April 2.
Two weeks after John Beilein left for Michigan,
talks continue between lawyers for West Virginia and the
former Mountaineers basketball coach over a sticky $2.5 million buyout clause in his WVU contract, Beilein's attorney said.
