As we all know, Alex Stepheson asked to
transfer after the spring semester, stating that it was
because of his father's health. While some think it is because of playing time, I'm going to believe the young man and say that he did it for family reasons. From what I have read around the Internet it seems that Stepheson will become a USC Trojan as of this fall.
AKRON, Ohio -- North Carolina coach Roy Williams
made it clear to his Tar Heels that if
they don't put the team first in their quest for a national title, they won't play for him next season. "If I feel that someone is out for themselves, I don't give ...
When Ty Lawson had his run in with
the law after drinking under aged and so on
and so forth I wrote about it, because I thought it was worth it. But now, going to a site I do have a lot of respect for, I have to read about another Tar Heel (this time Marcus Ginyard) who had to pay a $150 bond because he missed a court date for noise violation and expired sticker.
Looking around the North Carolina Athletic web site,
I saw that the roster for next year's basketball
team was posted. As you will see below, this year's team might be an anomaly as it is filled with a lot of juniors and seniors, something that is almost unreal in the "one & done" era .
If there is one thing that has been
a constant over the last year in the recruiting
world, it is the fact that head coach Roy Williams and his staff have been on a roll when it comes to getting top notch players to come to Chapel Hill.
As I look around many sites that I
check on a daily basis I stumble upon a
small tid bit from one of the best recruiting site I know, the ZAGSBLOG, and read about one of North Carolina's recruits.
Reading around the Worldwide Leader in Sport's web
page I found this top 100 NBA prospects list
done by Chad Ford. And while it is way too early to have anything like this, especially when you think that it is less than a week from the draft, I thought I would look at it and make my comments when it comes to the players from Chapel Hill.
Yesterday I once again got the jolt I
needed to remind me why I am a Tar
Heel and so proud of it. I turned on ESPN Classics where Dean Smith was featured, telling in a short hour what all of us that are Heels already know. The only thing I can say after watching that show is: "Sixty minutes is way too little to tell what Dean Smith means to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill."
I read this short blog (Read down a
bit for the UNC story) by Goodman (Fox Sports)
about how John Wall, a 6'3" 170 lbs. point guard, from Word of God (N.C.) "spurned" head coach Roy Williams and the Tar Heels.

Stepheson headed to USC, maybe
