One thing that my wife has always told me is "to pick my battles". This becomes even more true when in a web board. And I have been doing that, most of the time letting go of discussions that I don't agree with, because it's not the "battle I choose to pick".

North Carolina (13-0) prepared for the game against Valparaiso (10-3) knowing they’d be without Bobby Frasor, who’s out for the season with a torn ACL. However, they found themselves without their other backup point guard when Quentin Thomas sprained an ankle. This made for a lot of adjusting for head coach Roy Williams.

There will come a day when head coach Roy Williams will decide that his tenure at the University of North Carolina has come to an end. I hope that day comes as late as possible, since I believe he can keep UNC at the top of Men's basketball as long as he is there.

Yesterday the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational announced the official brackets for this year's edition. This is the the 25th year that the eight team tournament will take place, and the field is as good as it gets for a pre-season tournament.

If you are in the New York city area on Friday, August 22nd there is a basketball event that you shouldn't miss, as it will feature some of the best talent in the land, and that means several players that are either going to be Tar Heels or have Carolina has one of the finalists on their list.
