This was supposed to be a championship-caliber team
in what is possibly Lloyd Carr's last opener is
coach. With all hopes of a national championship pretty much dashed on the first Saturday of the season, it will be interesting to see if Michigan can salvage anything from the remaining games

It took long enough, but someone had to
say it. The college football world does not revolve
around Michigan. The resignation of Lloyd Carr has removed the self-obsessed rock most Wolverine fans have lived in under for the past decade. If a coach at a school from a state who's biggest accomplishment is the deep dish pizza can turn down the supposed holy grail of coaching positions, so can anyone.
