Despite the loss of Rich Rodriguez to the
Big Ten, the Big East is still rich with
coaching talent. UConn's Randy Edsall heads the list.
The two head coaches in the Meineke Bowl,
Randy Edsall of Connecticut and Jim Grobe of Wake
Forest, have been doing things with their programs that few would have thought they could. UConn (9-3) is emerging as a power in the Big East, while Wake Forest (8-4) returns after a great year in the ACC, to once again play well in their conference and earn a bowl berth.

From Tom Dienhart of the Sporting News: Talk
of Central Florida's George O'Leary being a hot target
at Syracuse is gaining steam. Others who could be in the mix are UConn's Randy Edsall and Illinois offensive coordinator Mike Locksley. Something to note: Many tell me that Syracuse A.D. Daryl Gross hasn't gotten raves in his job. You wonder if that will impact the quality of candidates for this

The picture above was the common site at
Saturday’s UCONN football game vs Maine. The grounds crew
was out there at every chance they could get replacing the divots. Honestly, you would have thought you were on a golf course with the amount of divots being taken. Nonetheless, head coach Randy Edsall was not pleased, going as far as suggesting they install field turf.
