Garrett Wolfe To The Hospital, Chicago Bear RB's Becoming Endangered

The Chicago Bears backup running back Garrett Wolfe suffered a kidney injury this past weekend in their game against the Arizona Cardinals. The significance of the injury was realized later after Wolfe was admitted to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to Chicago Tribune writer Vaughn McClure.
Wolfe has been the primary backup for starter Matt Forte after the original backup, Adrian Peterson, suffered a knee injury in October.
Thankfully, A.P. returned this past week just in time as Wolfe was hurt on the opening kickoff. Peterson originally took over the back up role when Kevin Jones suffered a season ending injury during the final preseason game.
Wolfe is still hospitalized, and while no one is sure how long he could be out, the Tribune reported that he should miss only two-four weeks.
Although, to be fair, it shouldn't make to much difference who is at the backup role since the Bears look to fall behind in the first quarter and then have to rely on the arm of Jay Cutler more than the ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Chicago Bears, Garrett Wolfe, Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte, Arizona Cardinals

Green Bay Packer Fans Should Be Booing Ted Thompson, Not Brett Favre

It's time. Time to call out Ted Thompson.
I cannot understand why the fans at Lambeau Field were seen booing Brett Favre. That passion and anger should be directed in an entirely different direction.
Packer fan: If you don't like seeing Brett Favre run out onto your field in a Vikings uniform, don't get mad at him. Get mad at your General Manager who ran him out of town.
Get mad at the man who decided that the Packers didn't need Brett Favre anymore. If the Packers are too good for Brett Favre, why should they be worried about him playing anywhere else?
Brett Favre took a ton of heat from media members and fans alike for his indecision. Where is the heat that Ted Thompson so richly deserves?
Ted Thompson, we are now a season and a half into your Brett Favre dismissal operation, and I think we can declare you as the official loser.
Your team that won 13 games two years ago and found itself an overtime away from the Super Bowl has compiled a 10-13 record since the departure of Favre.

Evaluating Lindsey's Vikings Predictions and Making More

If you are a Vikings fan you have to be enjoying this season as Minnesota sits atop the division with a 2 game lead, the Vikings have beaten the Packers twice and the team has suffered only one injury that has caused a key player to miss more than one game. Further reason to smile, the team comes out of the bye against the Detroit Lions. Yes, life is pretty good in Viking land.

Before the season began, I offered 5 predictions for the men in purple from the NFC North. As the Vikings have no game this week and I have been really enjoying the season the past two weeks it seemed like a good time to dust off what I said at the beginning of the season to evaluate my crystal ball gazing skills and to offer a few more predictions.
Pittsburgh Steelers Film Study: Forget Stats, Defense Was Great Against Vikings

Numbers can lie. Want an example?
In 2002, the Pittsburgh Steelers faced off with the Houston Texans for the first time. In that game, the Steelers generated over 400 yards of offense. They allowed less than 100 on defense.
They also lost 24-6.
So, when Brett Favre passed for 334 yards against the Steelers two Sundays ago, was it a case of numbers that lie or was it a case of numbers that reveal?
The numbers lie.
First of all, look at the rest of Favre's statistical line for the day. He threw 50 times, completing 33 passes. Only three passes went longer than 25 yards. He was also sacked four times, threw a costly interception in the red zone, and lost a fumble near the red zone.
So, Favre averaged 10.1 yards per completion and 6.68 yards per attempt. Those numbers are well within the realm of respectability for a defense. No one likes to allow 300+ passing yards, but in this case, it was exactly what the team needed to do.
Second, if you are a defensive coordinator preparing for the ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson

Fly: Peterson's swath of destruction extends to teammates

Hey, didn't you used to be Kurt Warner? (He apparently went as Jake Delhomme for Halloween.)
You may or may not have noticed that Minnesota Vikings FB Naufahu Tahi was unable to play against the Packers on Sunday. Apparently Tahi and Adrian Peterson were goofin' in the locker room and Tahi wound up injuring the area around his eye. Peterson did fine without Tahi's blocking, accumulating 97 yards and 1 TD at Lambeau.
So Brett Favre emerges from his Green Bay "homecoming" unscathed. Maybe Packers fans can ease their pain by purchasing this T-shirt .
Manu Ginobili insists he did not kill a bat that interrupted a Spurs game on Halloween. He says he stunned it. No official word on the bat's fate. In case you missed it, here's the video of Ginobili blocking the bat in flight.
Seems odd to even think about it today, but if the Yankees don't bring Johnny Damon back, the Boston Globe spies think he'd be a nice fit with the Chicago White Sox . Yeah, Fly bets folks in Boston would ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Kurt Warner, Jake Delhomme

Bears-Browns Game Day

The Bears inactives for Sunday's noon kickoff against the Browns include Devin Aromashodu, the promising receiver who has yet to make an impact on offense. Aromashodu played special teams the last few games, but the return of Adrian Peterson from a knee strain meant Aromashodu wasn't needed there.
