Middle linebacker Antonio Pierce plans to play against the Cleveland Browns on Monday despite missing two straight practices with a thigh injury. "I will never miss a game unless I am on IR, so I'll be there," Pierce said Friday. Pierce was vague when asked how he hurt his thigh, but indicated it probably happened when he was running during the Giants' 44-6 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Linebacker Antonio Pierce missed his second straight day of practice today, but he declared that he will play in Cleveland Monday night. "I'll be there Monday night, 8:30," Pierce said. "See me. I'll never miss a game unless I'm on IR. I'll be there." Pierce has been nursing an injured quad, which he indicated he suffered while running during the Giants' 44-6 win over Seattle on Sunday. That would seem to indicate it's a pull of some sort, though the Giants have been closed-mouth about the nature and seriousness of his injury. Asked for specifics, Pierce said that the injury was ""Mental. I'm nervous. It's 4-0 and being nervous." If he's making jokes, he's obviously OK. So believe him. Pierce will play. *** RT Kareem McKenzie (concussion) practiced and said he's doing better and no longer suffering post-concussion effects.
