Cleveland Browns Fans Should Be Optimistic for 2009

The Cleveland Browns did not live up to expectations in the 2008 season, finishing 4-12, but Browns fans should not hang their heads on the past. Rather, they should raise them up onward to the future.
Last year, the Browns made several mistakes, and it all began with GM Phil Savage. Savage is a terrible GM and his decision to re-sign Derek Anderson showed that he was impatient and full of ego. He wanted to prove to Cleveland that Quinn was not the answer and the face of the organization.
WRONG!
Derek Anderson disappointed, as fans predicted, and Quinn showed that he can lead this franchise in the right direction. So with Savage gone, the Browns have taken the first step in the right direction.
Next, they signed Eric Mangini, who is a great coach and should help lead the Browns next season. Romeo Crennel was not a terrible coach, but Mangini will bring a breath of fresh air and a younger more creative playbook.
More importantly than those moves are the fact that Brady Quinn will most ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Cleveland Browns, Brady Quinn, Phil Savage, Derek Anderson, Eric Mangini

Naked Women and The NFL

Okay, now that I have your attention let me ask all of you readers a couple of questions. We'll get to the naked women shortly!
1. Why in the world did the Broncos fire Mike Shanahan? That was the dumbest move since Al Davis fired Shanahan years ago! Right?
2. Is the Miami Dolphins resurgence this season is attributed more to the hiring of Bill Parcells in the front office or bringing in Tony Sparano on the sidelines?
3. Will the Detroit Lions ever win another game? No, seriously though how long before they can right the ship? One year? five years? What do you think?
4. Will Jamarcus Russell or Brady Quinn have a more successful career? Which team will have a better year in '09? Will Ja......"Hang on someones at the door"........"Damn it's my parole officer, how did he find me here?" I've gotta type quietly.
5. Has, in your opinion, Mario Williiams finally starting to perform up to his potential? Is he ever going be worth that No. 1 draft ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Al Davis, Miami Dolphins, Brady Quinn, Peyton Manning, Oakland Raiders

Randy Lerner Needs to Bring in a True Leader for the Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns are not missing too many pieces on either side of the ball. The missing piece is a coach that can inspire, motivate and discipline the team. Shaun Smith punching Brady Quinn shows this team’s lacks leadership. Cleveland needs an identity and that's what a new coach will bring to the table.
Defensively under Romeo Crennel, Cleveland ran a 3-4 defense that did not fit its core players. The Browns need to be a 4-3 team defensively. They have two defensive tackles in Shaun Rogers and Corey Williams. Kamerion Wimbley is best suited as a defensive end like Dwight Freeney or Patrick Kerney. Make him a defensive end so he can concentrate on pass rushing.
That leaves an opening at the other defensive end. Terrell Suggs, Julius Peppers, Rocky Bernard and Bertram Berry are all available in free agency. Peppers is intriguing as another pass rusher coming from the outside. Start with the line and everything else will follow. It's what the field was to the field of ...

Find more top sports news, videos, and blogs on BallHype: NFL, Cleveland Browns, Randy Lerner, Brady Quinn, Kellen Winslow, Shaun Rogers, Braylon Edwards
